Drifters@One Mile is more famous for the bar they have on the premises, but they offer cheap rooms as well. The owner and his family are very nice, but sadly the facilities are disappointing.
The Location
Negril is famous for the beautiful, seven-mile stretch of beaches; the hostel is located on the first mile. There isn't much around, as the hostel isn't located in town. The nearest ATM is about twenty minutes' walk away, so if you do not have a car, you'll probably end up using a lot of taxis to get around here. There is a tiny convenience shop nearby with basics but not much of a selection. The bar serves overpriced food, so we recommend venturing out if you're hungry. That being said, if you're here to enjoy the beach, the location is a prime one. The rooms are very cheap and you're right on the beach. Please note that locals do not recommend hanging out on the beach alone after dark.
Rooms and Bathrooms
If the rooms were any smaller, it would literally be impossible to move at all. There is only enough space for the beds, but to be fair, the beds are large and very comfy. Linen is included, but towels are not. There is a very bizarre system where the fan only works while the lights are on, so you can either try to sleep with the lights on, or sweat all night -- whatever works for you. There aren't any lockers or storage space for belongings. If you're lucky, you'll have a chair and a few hangers. There aren't any power outlets in the rooms, so forget about charging your phone. The bathrooms are shared and are dirty. The shower is always overflowing with water, as the shower curtains don't actually cover anything, and there is no hot water.
Common Spaces
There is a small and crowded kitchen. It looks quite nasty, so we weren't really thrilled about using it anyway. Other than that, there aren't really any other spaces in which to hang out. Outside there is a bar, but they expect you to buy food\drinks if you hang out there. It's a nice bar and they have great jam sessions a few times a week.
Summary
We wouldn't normally recommend a place like this, because there isn't really anything enjoyable about our stay here, but there unfortunately aren't many options here, let alone this close to the beach. This place is right on the beach, and it's very cheap, so as long as you don't expect much, give it a go.

Location and Contact
Location
Sangster Airport, Montego Bay is 76 Klms away and the Knutsford Express Bus Terminal is a 3 minute walk from Drifters. Alternatively the Bus Park in town is a short Route Taxi ride to Drifters costing about $300jmd per person. It's hard to get lost in Negril as there are only 3 main roads and they all converge at the roundabout in the Town Centre.
