HOSTAL EDEN, Torotoro

Hostal Eden is a really comfortable stay, right in the centre of everything.

The Location

Hostal Eden is approximately a thirty-meter walk from where the shuttle vans to and from Cochabamba operate. It is also ideally over the road from the mercado where you can get super cheap menu del dia for lunch and dinner. There are several small tiendas where you can buy water and other snacks for trekking right outside the front door as well, and the tourist information office is a three-minute walk away to organise your activities in the morning.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are multiple dorm rooms here on the first and second floor. Some of the beds are really soft and you may find yourself swallowed up in one, but there are others that are better. Shop around before choosing your bed for the evening to make sure you get a good sleep. There are sufficient blankets in case it is cold, but typically it is quite warm here.

There are bathrooms on both floors as well, equipped with the electric showers so that there is hot water, but the downstairs ones operate with hotter water than the upstairs one. They are kept clean and are good but basic bathrooms.

Common Spaces

The main common space in the hostel is the courtyard. There isn't very many places to sit here, but it is the centre of the hostel. They have a lounge-room-style area off to the side with a dining table where you can sit, though often the family who run the place will be sat in here watching television as well. They do breakfast at a charge from 7 in the morning as well in this area.

If you have your own food, they have a kitchen on the second floor as well above the reception where you can cook a basic meal or breakfast for yourself before heading off for the day, keeping in mind that it is hard to find good fresh produce here.

Hostal Eden is in the perfect location for people arriving into Torotoro. The manager is helpful with information about how things work in the local area and what you can do. It is a great place to stay and is highly recommended.
