Albergue Turístico Castelos is a decent place to stay if you are passing through town. It is probably not the most pampered option, but if all you are looking for is a bed for the night, this place will get the job done.
The Location
The hostel is located in the center of town, the town square, and the church are a few minutes' walking away and there are many bars, restaurants, and cafes around. You'll also find a pharmacy, banks, and ATMs nearby, and the route of the Camino de Santiago passes by as well. The street where the hostel is located is residential and quiet.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There is one large dorm room where everyone sleeps, it is full of bunk beds. The beds are built well and are comfortable enough. You get a set of disposable sheets upon check-in and you can use a sleeping bag if you have one. There are also warm blankets. There isn't much light, so reading in bed is not easy. There are some power outlets around, but probably not enough if all the beds are occupied. There are some lockers as well if you need to keep your valuables safe. The bathrooms are very clean, convenient, and practical and they seem to be kept well. There is hand soap.
Common Spaces
There aren't many common spaces around. There is a little dining area, but nothing too cozy, just some tables and chairs. Upon arrival, you can order your breakfast for the next day for an extra cost. It is very basic, but it's available starting at 6 a.m., so it's rather convenient if you'd like to leave early. There is a small guest kitchen you can use. You will also find there a laundry machine and a dryer. There are some snack vending machines around as well. There is free Wi-Fi, it works in most of the areas of the hostel, but the speed isn't very fast.
The atmosphere is quite international and pleasant. Lots of people from around the world who are walking to Santiago. Reception will most likely be able to recommend nice places to taste some local delicacies.
Summary
The hostel is not a bad choice for a quick stay and early departure. Around 7 a.m. all the lights are on and the cleaning staff seems eager for everyone to leave -- not the best customer experience.
