Atmosphere and Service, Great Value
Nasser, the owner, is a wonderful host, friendly and helpful, giving rides to Petra and directions to shops and cafes owned by locals. And his trekking advice for Petra was spot-on -- the hikes he recommends are not in the guide books and led to a morning of solitude inside Petra, not another person sight for hours, just ruins. The evenings spent unwinding with him and other guests were very pleasant, and Nasser is not a bad oud player, either. The rooms were clean, the water in the shower hot, and all requests were met quickly with a smile from the staff. Breakfast was cheap and easy, coffee and tea fresh and hot. The three nights spent with Nasser were the highlight of our two-week trip through Jordan. Time and money well-spent.
the worst time i had in jordan
the manager locks at you as you are a dollar sign. the rooms are dirty and the smell from the bathroom that has no door goes into the room. the window will not close all the way and made noise all night. the only good thing is the price of the room. the worst place in jordan.
My husband and I stayed at this hostel for four nights and for whatever the rooms lacked in amenities, the management more than made up for it in hospitality. Any problems we had were dealt with with efficiency and they compensated us for any inconvenience. The food is really quite good -- especially the boxed lunch and dinners -- and a great price for how much you get (you even get a discount if you are vegetarian). The guests were great, too. It's definitely a plus that the manager will drive you to Petra for free (no matter when you want to go). I definitely recommend it as a safe, comfortable, and fair place to stay.
An excellent hotel very near Petra. Management are really friendly and extra helpful. They'll help you plan your time in Petra, give you tips to see the best places and even drive you to the entrance to Petra for free. I would also recommend taking up the offer of arranging a Turkish bath -- a really good revitalising experience after a long day walking in Petra.
it is very good hotel and very close to Petra ticket office. the staff and the manager were very kind with us. it is one the best place i stayed in Jordan. i recommend it to everyone.
Amazing view of town & friendly staff
Convenient place to stay to visit Petra. You can walk (if you're feeling fit!) to and from the entrance or take a short taxi ride from the hostel. The owners were extremely nice people and there's lots of places right on your doorstep to grab food and supplies.
Great service by the staff. We felt welcomed and staff helped out so that we get the best out of our trip to Petra. Highly recommended guest house.
Pretty rundown. I had a room on second floor with a view over the city that was nice. But there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom. If I forgot to lock the door the smell spread and stayed in the whole room. Because of bad experience with the bedouins in Petra (too much hustling and constant nagging and pushing you into buying) and not liking the hotel I stayed on night less than planned and moved on to Wadi Rum (the bedouins there are the opposite of the ones in Petra - generous and kind)
The hostel has a rooftop with a beautiful view at sunset (and also other parts of the day), the staff was super nice, and it's located in the center, about 25 minutes walk from the entrance to Petra. :)
Liked: The staff are super lovely They will go over the top to help you out and alwasy up for a chat Didn't like: My drain was a little slow to drain in the shower but it was not an issue
Spacious rooftop entertaining area with amazing views
Helpfulness and kindness of staff
Very helpful staff. Provision of breakfast and lunch at low cost. Excellent trip organised to Wadi Rum at low cost.
Liked: Friendly, helpful staff. I feel their recommendations for excursions to Wadi Rum and other places saved us a good bit of money over what other tour agencies had to offer. Didn't like: The nearby Al-Janoub Sweets bakery was a bit of an issue. I must have gained a pound a day, but the baklava was the best I have tasted anywhere.
Liked: Team managing the hotel were very friendly and offered much help in visiting petra and organising other activities. Dinner was good, and not very expensive. Didn't like: Building was dated, rooms small, very basic, bathrooms could do with an improvement.
Liked: Situated in the centre of Wadi Musa (town next to Petra) - within walking distance to Petra. Hosts were accommodating to guests needs and advice about the area and getting around. Didn't like: A drop in tourism in Jordan means a no frills service and lack of guests in a over saturated area. To counter this the hotels/hostel really need to join up to do community based social events. invite guests to join meals, drinks, shisha and organised tours. By doing so will enhance the experience and give positive feedback.
Liked: Central location. Didn't like: Slightly run down
Liked: Location and rooftop terrace is a wonderful view over the city. Didn't like: Bathroom is very old.
Liked: The owner was very helpful and guided us in all aspects. Without this we would have not made the most of our visit to incredible Petra. He also guided us for Wadi Rum. Didn't like: None
The owners were extremely frieldly and helpful. Excellent home-cooked dinners. Felt at home!
