Fedora Hostel is an incredibly stylish, top-quality hostel in the northern part of Da Nang. Free breakfast, huge and comfy beds with curtains, and the most incredible level of cleanliness describe this place, even if the international vibe is definitely missing.
The Location
The hostel is located in the north of Da Nang, just off the highway that leads to Hue. This means that it can be a good choice if you are here to do stuff in Da Nang itself. However, if your purpose is to enjoy the beach or do day trips to Hoi An and the Marble Mountains, then it is less favourable, as you would have to cross the entire city with its huge traffic jams to get to these places.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel offers dormitories as well as private rooms across three stories. It is incredible how clean they manage to keep the premises -- it almost feels like you are inside a museum! The dorm rooms have bunk beds with curtains on them and electronic plugs and bedside lamps inside. You also get a key to the room and a locker that is big enough to fit your whole backpack inside. The only problem is that you are really near the airport, so you will have airplanes flying over the hostel the entire night, which can be quite loud! The bathrooms are at the end of the corridor and are spacious and modern and come with shower gel.
Common Spaces
The whole bottom floor is dedicated to socialising. There is a cute area with pillows and a low table where you can chat or read one of the books on offer. Opposite this, you can tell the staff how you are feeling about the place by taking a candy from the various boxes -- happy, excited, satisfied, and confused are some of the options. There is also a kitchen at the back of the bottom floor where you can cook or make some tea or coffee. The free breakfast is served here in the mornings; you can choose from about five egg-based dishes.
Summary
This hostel is exceptional! The level of cleanliness and the modern, stylish interior give it a very welcoming atmosphere. However, the guests are predominantly Asian, so there is less traveler culture here, and at the moment, there are construction works going on right opposite, which means it is quite noisy during the day.
