Crowded hostel with some drawbacks

This hostel is very busy one, considering it's proximity to main train station, and the fact that there are not really that many hostels in Munich. We stayed for two nights, and every day the reception desk was crowded with many people that wanted to check in. Something i have rarely seen in other hostels. Guys at reception desk managed all that crowd best they can, but of course this comes with some drawbacks. First was not really knowing how many free beds are in each room. For both nights we stayed here, they gave already occupied beds to other people. Not nice feeling when coming to your dorm at 3AM finding some guy sleeping in your bed. The place is clean as it can be, but looks a bit worn out. Positive thing is they have bar with some snacks and cold drinks, and a garage. Good hostel for one night, but expect nothing more.

Worst hostel I stayed in Munich

Staff were unfriendly. Only hostel in the world I've had to pay for bedsheets, and it is 3 as well! There was only 1 powerpoint in the room for everyone to use. Two couples slept in single beds so there were so many people crammed in the room. The lobby, the only place with free wifi, was packed with drunk people and kids and had very little seating.

Worst hostel on my trip so far

Of the 5 hostels I've stayed in during my past 2 weeks of traveling, this one was, by far, the worst. I only had to stay here one night because of unforeseen circumstances with the friend I was staying with in the city. First, there was only one person at the reception/bar to serve all the drunk people and check everyone in and answer everyone's questions. He wasn't friendly, which I suppose is understandable considering he was under some stress. The bedsheets cost 3 and this is actually the only hostel I've ever stayed at where you had to pay for bedsheets. I'd suggest including it in the price of the room, but then it would have been even more ridiculous than the 28 I paid to sleep here for a few hours. Also, when I asked if they were required, he said yes, but 3 of the people in my room didn't have anything on their beds except the pillow and duvet, as in they didn't pay for the bedsheets or bring their own. The mattresses were incredibly hard and unforgiving. It was like sleeping on the floor. There were little lights on every bed for reading and whatnot, but they were too bright and couldn't be moved to face downward so as to not disturb everyone else in the room. The outlets were in inconvenient places in the room (under a bench, beside the light switch, in the bathroom). The stairwell smelled disgusting. To get to my friend's room, she had to go outside on a balcony. Thank goodness we were in Munich in spring and not winter. The lobby/bar doesn't have enough seating for how many people I assume the hostel can house at one time. There were not railings in the bathroom to hang clothes or a towel. The only positive things I have to say about this hostel are that check out was easy and the luggage storage is very well organized and kept safe.

School dormitory

This hostel is too crowded but that was not my problem but the type of crowd that comes to stay there. The facility is good, the location is good. My worst nightmare was to hear people making love in the middle of the night on the hall way, and they were shouting on top of their voice. It was horrible. They are out of control.

A good safe place to stay.

I stayed here for nine nights in July and absolutely loved my stay here. I had originally booked accommodation at the main A&O Hostel but was told (when I showed up) that I had been moved to this place. There was still some construction going on but the room we had (a four-bedder) was great. To make it better yet, the other two beds were never occupied during our stay. Location wise, it's about a twenty- to twenty-five-minute walk from the main train station but I found I actually enjoyed the walk, so much so that I hardly took the tram (which you can do and which stops almost in front of the hostel). There is a supermarket around the block from the hostel. Belatedly discovered the hostel bar on the roof and enjoyed some excellent caipirinhas there. Munich is a fantastic city and my stay here never detracted from that fun experience.

this hostel is not worth the money they charge. they advertise they have breakfast supplied and it cost extra and linen is a extra 12 euro a night. the staff are as arrogant as hell and the toilets were never cleaned in six days, their security follows you around like you are a criminal! If you want a enjoyable stay in munich, don't stay here -- plenty more nicer hostels around!

Probably one of the worst hostels Ive been to. Currently a building site. Smelly kitchen which you have to pay a deposit of 20 to use. Electricity and half the sockets in kitchen stopped working - nobody fixed over period of 2 days. 6 dining seats for a hostel of over 500 rooms. However, rooms are comfortable and clean, very close to tram. Im not saying that you shouldnt stay here, but deffo lower any expectations you have!

Nothing worked, our locker to our room has no battery at 1 am

our train starts at 6

and the receptionist said i can do nothing, until we were almost shouting for 2-3 hours...

No german and barely english

Everything costs extra, so dont trust the phone queue...

Worst experience ever

It's pretty obvious how hard they are working to improve the building and the rooms which is great but the service in front desk/reception is really urgent to be improved, people at noon in front desk is really far away to be called helpful or polite... They look like they don't even know how to work there...

Filthy, unsafe, destroyed property! Rooms where extremely HOT, no ventilation, windows did not open, no AC! People were loud and yelling in the aisles at 2,3,4 am! Room and bathroom extremely dirty! DO NOT RECOMMEND. Absolute WORST experience at a hostel!

The location was good, but the rooms were not clean, there was a plastic bag floating in the Toilette and hair in the bed. Around the hostel was a construction site

Its basically still under construction with no common areas at all except the lobby which is not a social area

hostel has really nice rooms and a good laundry, also in a very good location.

What a disastrous experience in this hostel. Mattresses would do damage to your body if slept on them any longer than 2 nights, our bathroom had terrible amounts of rust and mould in it, a bad atmosphere in the hostel, where ever you go, unobliging staff, and the worst part for us, the fact that the hostel is largely under renovation, with scaffolding and builders being the view from our room windows, forcing us to shut the curtains all the time. The deafening drilling was the final straw.

No facilities were available. Just a bed to sleep

The room was very very hot and the window didn't open all.

Even after reading the reviews (which were absolutely horrible) I am still one for saving money. So I booked here anyways. That was a huge mistake. Half the place feels like its under construction while the other half feels like a homeless shelter. Incredibly dirty, cold showers, no lockers, it smelt horrible. The list goes on. I booked my stay for 2 nights and ended up booking my last night at a different hostel and checking out early. The only positive thing I can say about here is the staff was nice. D

Its a cheap hostel not much else to it.

No doubt, the worst hostel. DO NOT STAY :)

Initial look of the place is under construction, reception is a dive. Staff clearly hate there job, no personality. Also lacking staff as you will wait a good half hour to check in or even ask a Q.

Room looks modern but it faults a lot. No plugs next to beds, only across the other side. Its like a boiler room at night !! A fan/ boiler noise is on constant all night vv loud has no purpose in the room.

Do not waste your money here, there are plenty other hostels

Thank you ano, Munich. I had a very enjoyable week to attend a seminar and explore the city.

Your staff were very helpful and friendly.

Thank you.

It's funny they ask for a review, because it was one of the worst hostels I've been to!

The only good thing was the receptionist who advised me not to buy breakfast there because it was too expensive!

Open areas everywhere to enter hostel, dirty, smelled terrible, lockers in rooms were broken and could not store luggage. Aweful

The shower had clear signs of fungus around the corners, it was quite dirty. The halls had this awful carpet that it looked destroyed. The employers in the recpection weren't that friendly, plus t wasn't clear to me that the 11 Eur didn't include bedsheets. That should be clearer in the webpage.

Nothing good to say about this hostel. Room were not cleaned. Bed sheets remained on the floor after customers leaving. The bathroom was oudated and dirty. Customer kitchen was closed and no space where to eat except in the unfriendly lobby. Staff was unpleasant and with no manners.

Never again!

The room not smell very well.

Great experience. Very comfortable staying
