Imagine turning off the busiest street of Pushkar to walk into a quiet and relaxed courtyard covered in green trees and grass where people are playing games and chilling while sipping some nice drinks -- this is Elephant Pushkar.
The Location
Elephant Pushkar is located right in the middle of the otherwise not really huge town of Pushkar. It is situated on a quiet side street right off the main bazaar, which is only a few dozen metres away from the sacred Pushkar Lake, around which all the activity in the town revolves. It's great, as you can wake up to watch the morning ceremony just as you hear the loudspeakers being turned on and you will still be in time.
The hostel has three entrances as it is connected to three streets. It is no surprise as it is spread out over a surprisingly big area. When you enter its territories, you get the impression that you stumbled into a park; people are playing football on one side and badminton on the other, while others are chilling at one of the many garden tables in an area that also functions as a restaurant.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel is housed by a semi-circular building in which one side has privates and the other side has dorm rooms. Amongst the seven or so dorms, there are female only and male only as well as mixed rooms. They are quite small, with only four beds inside each, which guarantees some privacy. The beds are colourful and guests are encouraged to paint on the walls which gives the place an upbeat feel. The rooms are en suite but the bathrooms are rather small and not a very nice colour.
Common Spaces
The best thing about this place is definitely the amount and quality of the common areas. The courtyard in which it is located is extremely spacious, which is almost incredible given its location. There are various sports courts on it and in the evening it turns into an open-air restaurant where you can sit and watch as your naans are being baked in the huge tandoori oven. However, there are plenty of indoor common areas as well, which is great given that the winter evenings can get rather cold. These include a chilling area with billiards as well as an indoor gym.
Summary
All in all, this place is excellent value for the money. With the perfect location, friendly staff, great atmosphere, and an impressive array of entertainment facilities, you might never want to explore the town but instead spend all your time here.

• Hopping on the parallel railroads:
• The mini-city of Pushkar is at a mere distance of 18 Kms from Ajmer, a prominent railhead in the region. Arrive through the railroads from parts of the country to Ajmer and catch up a bus from herein to the Pushkar town for dirt cheap prices as low as Rs.20-40.
• Alternatively, you may hire a personal mini van from Ajmer to Pushkar or a tuk-tuk, either of which might cost you between Rs.200-400. The drop in Pushkar is Brahma Temple Parking, in case you take a tuk tuk, from herein Moustache is a mere 50 meters.
• A shared cab will most probably drop you at Gurudwara which is about 1.4 km from hostel. And another tuk tuk to the ghat would cost you about Rs.50.
• The highways to Pushkar:
• Moustache here in Pushkar is fully equipped with its parking spaces, so in case you wish to drive to our location, come over to Brahma Temple in Pushkar, walk past the temple and move south on Brahma Temple Road till you reach G Art Emporium on your left.
• Turn right here and walk for another 130 metres, we are located opposite Pushkar Adventure Camp on your right. Park your vehicle towards the right wall walk, through and hola, welcome to Moustache!
• Through the air:
• Kishangarh Airport is the nearest to Pushkar, about 40 Kms from the town, though regular flights from across multiple cities are only operated from Sanganer Airport in Jaipur, about 140 Kms from Pushkar.
