• Location: 2 hours drive from Reykjavík, central in Snæfellsnes. From Reykjavík take road no. 1 north. Just after Borgarnes turn left on road no. 54 to Snæfellsnes. When you get to Vegamót, take road no. 56 over the mountain pass to Grundarfjörður. It is also possible to take the scenic but somewhat longer route: from Vegamót carry on with road no. 54 to Arnarstapi, through the National Park on the edge of the peninsula and past Ólafsvík to Grundarfjörður.
