Although forced to move in Jan 2013 after 13 years, the friendly and unique Warthogs Bush Camp has not moved far and is still nestled among Mopane trees on the shores of Kariba. Ideally suited for the budget traveller, Warthogs offers its guests “no frills” accommodation in the form of camping, tented units, thatched en-suite cabins and a simple self-cater cottage.
We have hot showers and braai stands for campers, 3 tented units and 3 en suite cabins.
The self-cater cottage has a kitchen, en-suite, open plan bedroom, another bathroom and a garden/braai area.
We have a bar and grill restaurant on site, overlooking the lake, which is open Tuesday to Sunday for drinks and bar meals. For breakfast, please book with the chef the night before.
We have a splash pool at the bar. Families are welcome, so bring the kids and come chill with friends or catch the latest sport on DSTv. Please, no dogs tho’… (a National Parks restriction.). We also have wifi services for $2.00 per stay.
Of course, being a wildlife corridor, we also have plenty of game around. In the dry season elephants, zebras & hippos are frequent visitors. We can also arrange canoe trips, game drives & houseboats for guests through local agents.
