La Casa de Bamboo is a really quaint and cute place to stay in Huacachina, close to all of the action.
The Location
Huacachina is a small town and the Casa de Bamboo is located on the edge of the loop around the lake in a quieter part of the town, but also less than two minutes' walking to get to the edge of the lake and the restaurants with all of the action. It is also a short distance to walk to where most of the buses or shuttle vans pick you up to take you back to Ica or beyond.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorm rooms here are really comfortable. The beds have good quality mattresses and linen and are just lush. There are small lockers in which to keep your valuables, but there aren't enough for everybody. The room also has open windows and gaps where mosquitoes can get in during the evenings so bring your repellent for sleeping.
The bathroom is attached to the dorm room and is nicely renovated, but has its issues. The shower has a functioning hot tap, which pumps out super hot, scalding hot water, which is great until you realise that the cold tap doesn't function properly. You have to pull it out and keep twisting it until something catches enough to open the valve. And after finding the happy medium of water temperature, you then freeze at the end trying to turn the damn thing off.
Common Spaces
The main common area is the restaurant area on the main floor. They do good-quality meals at prices that are average compared with most of the other places around town and yet aren't cheap for the average backpacker. It also has a bar where they do happy hours in the afternoons. It has a quaint little garden and a lot of sun, and it's a nice place to chill out, read a book or meet a few people and enjoy the local specialty drink of a pisco sour.
There is an indoor area that has a few couches where you can sit as well; this area is also home to what we originally thought was a television, but is actually a live stream of twelve different security cameras from around the hostel.

This hostel has a really nice vibe to it and is a great place to chill out and enjoy Huacachina.

• From Ica by Taxi.
• Head northeast on Av Cutervo toward Av. Leon Arechua/Av. Tupac Amaru
• Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Av. Leon Arechua/Av. Tupac Amaru

• Turn right
• Continue straight

• From the Airport of Lima.
• Upon arrival at the airport, take a taxi and head over to one of the bus stations in Lima. Take the next bus to Ica (approx. 5-hour bus ride). Once in Ica, take another taxi and ask the driver to take you to Av. Angela de Perotti. Once there, you will be able to get our hostel.
