The Luci's House is a centrally located hostel in District One of Ho Chi Minh City.

The Location

There is a lovely park opposite the hostel that has various events on during the year. The park also has various fitness equipment stationed around it and a food court in a basement below. Walking Street, which has various bars, restaurants, and clubs, is a five-minute walk away. The War Remnants Museum is about a thirty-minute walk away.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The Luci's House has various-sized rooms from mixed dorms, to double rooms, to six-sleeper family rooms. The rooms are all of a decent size, with comfortable beds and both air conditioner and fans. The rooms are all installed with a TV, which has cable linked to a handful of English channels. The bathrooms are not the common wet rooms and have a closed door shower. Hot water can be accessed all day too. The family rooms and dorms have their bathrooms attached to their rooms, however the double bedroom has its bathroom separate. Although you have to leave your room to enter the bathroom, the hostel ensures you that it is for your use only. There is also a sign on the door that says the bathroom is to be used by the room only.

Common Spaces

On the first floor, with reception, is a common room for guests. Every morning from 7 to 10 a.m., there is a free breakfast laid out in the common room. The breakfast consists of toast with a selection of jams and tea and coffee. Book exchange is available in the common area, and between 6 and 8 p.m. every night, you can receive one free beer from the hostel. Reception is very helpful toward guests and they are more than happy to book tours and transport, give advice, do laundry, and also sort out a local SIM card for your stay. There is also a fridge at reception where you can store your food as well as purchase beer, soft drinks, and water from the hostel.

Summary

The Luci's House is the perfect hostel for somebody looking for cheap accommodation in the centre of District One in Ho Chi Minh City. The rooms are very comfortable and Wi-Fi can be accessed throughout the building. Although the breakfast is extremely basic, it is free, and you can also get a free beer each night.

• Just 5 minutes walk to and from the Backpacker area, and the tour bus drop off area. Our hostel is opposite 23/9 Park. Stop there, and look for 174-176 Le Lai Alley, then walk in 3 houses.
• Don’t make the mistake to take a taxi, it is just across the park from your airport bus ( 109).
• 5-10 minutes walk from Ben Thanh Market and the local bus station. We offer Airport pick-up service for a reasonable rate. We are around 30-40 minutes from the airport depending on traffic.
