04village Namba is well located near many attractions, and it's easy to get on the move if you want to take the subway. There are many restaurants and stores nearby. The shared dorm doesn’t have a mattress -- it’s a futon and the pillow is not that soft. It’s a nice place if you want privacy and to relax.
The Location
This has a convenient location in Namba in the south of Osaka, near the Zoo, Shinsekai area, Den Den town (with manga shops), and Tennoji Park. It is easy to walk to Abeno (where there are shopping malls) and keep walking until Dotombori. The metro station is nearby if it’s easier. There are supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants nearby. The building is easy to find since there is a clear sign outside.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel has thirteen bedrooms in total in shared or private dorms. Each dorm has a door lock. In the shared dormitory, each bed is self-made and consists of a futon and sheets. The pillow is not very comfortable, but it’s still fine. Each space has its own lamp and curtain. It doesn’t have a hanger, but there is a hanger and a small box inside the locker. Lockers have a self-set password and they are big enough. There is also a sofa and a small table (Japanese style) inside the dorm.
The toilets are clean and there are two showers in each floor. The shower is a cabin, it’s not a proper room, and while it only has a curtain to divide the space from the other shower, it’s good. The shower is hot and they offer shampoo and body soap (but no conditioner). There are no hangers, but a small box for leaving your stuff while taking a shower. There are hair dryers outside the showers.
Common Spaces
This is an eight-floor building. In the entrance there’s the reception and many tables, and there's plenty of maps and information about Osaka. There isn’t a proper kitchen, but there’s a microwave, fridge, sink, dishes, and cups. There is free coffee and tea twenty-four/seven. Sometimes there are activities, but it's not very social in general.
Summary
This is a nice, clean, quiet hostel that has a good location for moving to different areas in Osaka. While it's clean and private in general, it's not ideal if you want to cook but it’s a good place for a chill stay.
