OZZ Nice is a really nice place to stay in Nice, but it's a little on the expensive side for what it is.
The location of the OZZ Nice is really good -- it's close to the train station and public transport to get to and from the airport, so getting here is no problem. The beach is about a twenty-minute walk away, and supermarkets and the shopping district are really close by.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The room here feels like one you would find in a hotel, with nice and comfortable linen, fresh paint, and clean en suite bathroom with a good shower. The problem is that the dorm is tiny; among four people, there is not enough space for all of us to stand up at once and move around, especially if people are traveling with luggage that is too big to fit in the lockers and has to be kept on the floor. The lockers are quite sizable and if you have your own lock you can lock them, and they also have shelves associates with them too. The beds do have curtains, which is a bonus -- otherwise, you'd be staring into the loving eyes of your unknown bunk buddy from about a meter's distance or less away, such is the small distance between the beds.
The main common space is the quite large and spacious reception area and bar. There are chairs and tables all through this area for sitting, meeting, and chatting with people. They have an activities board, which has the events for the specific day up in reception too, as well as other things to do around the area.
The other downside is the lack of kitchen; there is a solitary microwave, and that is it. No plates, cups, or cutlery were observed, except for the paper cups floating around from coffee. Food is really expensive in Nice, so it would have been nice to have a few more facilities available.
Overall, this is a nice place -- it is like the luxury of staying in a hotel in many aspects, however some of the essential backpackers needs have been overlooked and it can be quite expensive for what it is. The staff are helpful and friendly, and this place is close to everything you will need during your stay, so it is pretty good for a couple of days.
