Durag Niwas Guest House Reviews

Durag Niwas Guest House Reviews from the Web

Liked: Friendly staff and comfortable room. Didn't like: The guest house is quite a distance fr the main attraction points.

Liked: The guesthouse is very unique. The courtyard is lovely as a common area for people to hang out, have a meal, relax and chat to other travellers. I think it is very nice that this guesthouse provides a friendly and homely atmosphere to encourage guests to interact with each other. Didn't like: We booked to stay here for one night, as a couple, however, the guest house confused our booking and didn't have a room for us on the day that we arrived. Even though they were very good at providing us with another accommodation in a hotel nearby, we were still very disappointed that we didn't get to stay at Durag Niwas. Therefore, our opinions of the room and cleanliness cannot be relied on. The owner of the guest house was very helpful in providing us with tips for travelling around Jodhpur.

Liked: The staff is absolutely nice! All, from the owner to the guys helping there. You are going to feel like if all the attention is only for you.The place itself is really pretty and comfortable. The wifi works really good and the food is very nice (not spicy on request). Didn't like: Our room didn't have window, so it was dark.

Liked: It is in a good residential area, about a 1km from the centre of Jodhpur. It has charm and the feel is friendly. The family feel is great as is the food - home cooking at it's best. Didn't like: The water supply by pump) was not functioning so we had only 1 chance to have a shower in 3 nights there. Most days there was no water & despite their best efforts this did not improve

My new favorite hostel in India I loved it! I want my house decorated just like this place! Its so Rajasthan-ie and the rooms have so much character, and soft beds, hot water, and high-powered fans!!!! The wifi is super-duper fast too. The staff and owners are incredibly kind, lovely people. They definitely went above and beyond and were so helpful. AND, theyre running a non-profit next-door that works to empower women in the community.

Liked: Nicely furnished (antiques) and decorated rooms, location in street with european style houses - oase of cleanliness and silence - nice change after all other places in dirty and noisy so called "old towns" Didn't like: nothing

Liked: This was a fantastic hostel! The staff was so helpful and willing to help us with all our travel arrangements. And by "help with," I mean HELP with-- NOT direct us to "friends" or try to plan our vacation for us. The food was amazing, and the atmosphere really relaxing and friendly. For the money, I can't imagine a better place to stay in Jodhpur. Didn't like: As with most hostels in India, the electricity and water were not the most reliable. Be sure to bring your own lock for the door! But these are minor considerations.

nice rooftop terracenicest room we had so far, nice decorationsuper clean bathroomsoap for free

Liked: Has a good atmosphere Didn't like: nothing

Liked: Great staff! Very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent, wifi was usually available, and the courtyard is big yet cozy. Didn't like: Nothing.

This household has always been welcoming guests and enjoying giving others hospitality for many years. We remember when we were very young boys our Grandpa hosted many parties of all the important local family including the Army, Police, Politicians and Royalty. We remember walking down the road being welcomed by the sound of laughter and music and we knew Grandpa was having another one of his parties! We have carried on this tradition ever since by welcoming guests and hoping that they experience some of the culture and traditions that happen throughout the year in an old traditional house including Diwali - festival of lights -, Holi - festival of colours - and many other celebrations.
