Hostel Arbat 11 has an unbeatable central location in Vladivostock, the most famous and important Russian city in the Far East of the country. The town is the last stop (or the first, depending on the direction) of the Trans-Siberian Railway (and the hostel is easily reachable by walking from the train station), and it seems to attract a few more tourists than many other cities in Russia.
As mentioned Hostel Arbat 11 is located on the Main Street in Vladivostock city center. The train station is at a fifteen-minute walking distance. The airport is much further away, and is reachable in an hour by bus or by train. Finding the hostel is very easy, as the location provided is correct and there is a sign outside.
Around the hostel there are many bars, shops, and restaurants, as it's in the most important part of the city. The beach is just five minutes away and so its the main square.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Hostel Arbat 11 has dorms and privates. Dorm accommodations are on the first floor, while privates are on the second. There is one bathroom for each floor, with toilet and shower together. Soap is available but shampoo is not provided. Rooms have fairly comfortable mattresses and lockers are available (though you need to use your own padlock). The hostel is kept clean and tidy, but the bathrooms are quite old and not very nice to use. The shower as well has hot water, but the cover is broken and water spills outside.
There is not much of a common space at this hostel. At the entrance there is one sofa next to the shoe rack, and then a tiny kitchenette is available with a small table. It is not a real kitchen, as it has only a small cooker, there isn’t a sink, and there are very limited items to cook in general. Water is provided free of charge for guests.
It is a very small hostel and not many people seem to stay there. Some locals stay for a long time and English is not well spoken. It is very hard to meet fellow travelers and the hostel doesn’t arrange any tour or activity for guests.
The hostel's location is perfect and can’t be better. The sleep is quite comfortable, but bathrooms are lacking. The kitchen offers very limited cooking options and it is hard to meet other people. It's an ok place for a couple of nights in the city, mostly for the location.
