El Mirador Hostel Club Social boasts a stunning infinity pool and great views of the surrounding area. It's a very unique setup, with the hostel sitting alongside the hotel. It doesn't have a traditional hostel atmosphere, but the luxury facilities and beautiful location make this hostel well worth a visit.
The Location
The hostel is located on the outskirts of Taganga up a steep hill. It's quite a long walk up to the hostel and so a taxi or one of the frequent buses to Santa Marta would be advisable to reach there. You can get a cheap collectivo from Santa Marta to the hostel, but you will need to let the driver know when to stop, as the hostel is before the main town. There are no shops very close by for groceries.
The location is isolated, but depending on what you want this could be a positive. The hostel has stunning views of Taganga and is a great spot to watch the sunset.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are very spacious and have comfortable bunk beds with staircases built beside them. There are lockers located under the bed and power sockets next to every bed. The bathrooms are on the small side, but clean. The shower doesn't have a shower head as water comes out of a pipe, but the water pressure is decent.
Common Spaces
The main appeal of the hostel and its biggest attraction is an infinity pool that boasts stunning views of Taganga. This pool is average in size and has a waterfall at its edge. There are numerous seating options around the pool.
The hostel acts as a nightclub on Thursdays through Saturdays and the noise does travel to the rooms. If you want to party for the weekend, then this is one of the best spots in town and staying there means you don't have to worry about travel. The club is very large, as is the rest of the hostel and the space is also open during the day to relax. There is also a restaurant, which is on the expensive side.
There is a large amount of seating and common spaces around the hostel and the layout is very pretty. The hostel is split over a number of floors and has very pretty features within it.
Summary
This is definitely not your average hostel experience, but it's in a beautiful location and has good facilities.

Location
• The hostel is located within a short walking distance of Taganga and its beach. There are many diving schools in Taganga and they are known to provide very affordable diving certifications or fun dives. We are also very close to the Tayrona National Park. To get to the park, you can take a boat from either Taganga or a bus. The bigger city of Santa Marta is a 10-minute drive from the hostel and Rodadero beach is a further 15-20 minute drive away.
• To get to the hostel, you can take either a bus or a taxi from Santa Marta. If you take a taxi, just say the name of the hostel- all taxi drivers will know where to take you. It should cost you between 10 000 and 15 000 pesos depending on the time of the day. They will most likely drop you off at the beginning of the driveway and you will have to walk uphill 1-2 minutes to get to the property. If you are lucky, they will take you all the way up.
• If you chose to take the bus, take the bus towards Taganga and ask to be dropped off at the hostel. They will drop you off at the beginning of the driveway and you will need to walk 1-2 minutes uphill to get to the property. The bus costs 1400 or 1500 pesos (weekends and holidays).
