Yes! we're still here and still welcoming world travellers to our "Voyagers' Venue" One of the original hostels that made "Backpackers" into destinations of choice for voyagers from around the globe.
After 21 years nothing's the same and nothing's changed.
You can still walk downstream from downtown to find us.
Just far enough (750m) from the square to get out of parking meter territory.
But our quaint old cabins are all gone.
Instead we have quaint new rooms surrounding our grown and growing gardens.
The rooms have under floor heating in case it's chilly, and the garden's fully air conditioned.
We still have no TV most of the time.
We still have "travellers" whose travel urge is on hold.
They stay and stay.
We still have travellers whose travel urge is rampant.
They come back.
There's no more Hat Parties at The Star and Garter (they knocked it down - Harringtons pub down the street is even better)
But we still get occasional reports of Foley Towers re-unions in London and Tokyo and Toronto. And even a wedding now and then.
There's a lot of tradition at Foley Towers.
We're still making it.
Come and be part of it.
