Great location, friendly staff, stately old structure, and lousy breakfast. We enjoyed our stay, the helpful people we met, the basement Pub after 18h, underground parking near by. Plenty of very good restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques in the area. Highly recommended, but bring your own breakfast. Quebec City is magnificent any time of year.

I loved my stay at this hostel. Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms, lots of activities, and decent breakfast. Great location and very reasonably priced. I will definitely stay here again if I'm in Quebec City again. Would highly recommend this hostel to others.

The hostel is in a prime location and the staff are great. The room was also very clean. My only complaint would be that the showers aren't set up very well. There's not really anywhere to put your stuff and the floor was usually flooded.

Clean, spacious, friendly staff
The hostel facilities were very clean. I stayed in a 12 bed dorm which was very spacious. Hostel staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great location, friendly staff, excellent value
HI Quebec is located in the heart of old Quebec, which made it convenient to walk everywhere. If I ever come back to this beautiful city, I'll stay here again! Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a hostel with good location and service and don't want to spend too much for their stay.
When I visit Quebec again, I'll come back to this hostel
I think at the end the most important are the people. I'm traveling alone for ten months. The staff and my roommates are so welcoming and hospitable. I felt like family right away. Even the mundane things like playing bingo were memorable experiences. I would recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to enjoy the city with likeminded travelers and locals alike. Special thanks to the best staff ever -- christian, elli, belen, julien, and more!
HI - Quebec - Auberge Internationale de Qubec Hostel has an amazing atmosphere and is upbeat. The staff here are really cool; all of them speak English and French, which is helpful, and they are full of information on places to see and go.
Located right in the center of the action in downtown, Quebec City, this hostel has an amazing location! You are within walking distance of all major attractions that you would want to see while you are here, including the Citadelle and the Chateau Frontenac. There are an abundance of restaurants within the area lining the stone cobbled streets, and also and you can find grocery stores just a short walk away too. It is located within the old walls of the city, so it is among more of the older-style buildings and cobble-stoned streets that Quebec City is renowned for.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms at the hostel are cosy and spacious. They have good quality mattresses and linen which make sleeping comfortable. There are lockers for storage of your valuables provided that you supply your own lock. Bathrooms are clean and equipped with one shower and toilet per each bathroom of which there are many on each floor, so waiting is not often a problem. They are all modern facilities and very nice.
The hostel consists of a large lobby area with an abundance of information on things to see and do. There are sign-up sheets for activities if you want to get involved. They have a computer room if you haven't got access to technology that allows you to use the free Wi-Fi. They also have a large library, from which you can exchange or borrow books. Downstairs is equipped with a large kitchen, with an abundance of stoves to cook on and they all work! There is a large dining area where you can eat and be social and next to that they have a bar for the hostel where you can also catch a drink or two with fellow hostelers.
We would most definitely recommend staying here! The location, the friendly staff, the clean and funky environment make it the perfect place to stay when visiting Quebec City!
Clean and Professional
Very well managed and clean hostel. The staff were all very helpful. I was impressed with the free earplugs since I was put into a room with two loud snorers. The location is perfect. Because the place is run so well, you won't only find backpackers but also families. The best time to meet people, besides your own room, is during breakfast when the dining area fills to capacity. Breakfast is not free, however. Parking passes can be purchased at the hostel for $14 per day, giving you access to the city's underground parking lot close by. If you don't purchase through them, it'll cost you more.
Auberge Internationale de Québec Hostel Reviews from the Web
Great placement for the hostel inside the city walls and a few minutes from the pedestrian street. Quebec City is hilly.
The bar and cafe listed on the Hostelworld app arent open so dont plan to use those. This does mean the hostel lacks some social vibes and makes for a more quiet visit.
The daily tours are a great way to meet other guests though and the free morning coffee is appreciated.
Excelente hostal, familiar, tranquilo, seguro, las personas muy amables.... Muy Buena experiencia lo recomiendo...
Well-located hostel with good facilities
We had a fantastic time at the Auberge Internationale de Qubec. It is well organized, clean and friendly. The atmosphere was so welcoming! There are many different common areas you can go to, this is especially great when you need a break from exploring the city but don't want to lay in bed. There are books in a library, free coffee 7-9am, games, and even a guitar to play! We really enjoyed our stay and will absolutely be coming back. Merci!!
Everything was great except not being able to have private room. I was in mix room( male & female) that was Not quite comfortable for a female 80 years old
Location and low costs are definetely the strongest assets of this hostel; very central in old quebec. Staff was kind enough and helpful. Dorms are basic and exactly what you would expect for the pricing. Beds were firm and comfy enough. The one main drawback from this hostel are the common areas and kitchen wich definetely need some renovations and new decorations. The sink in the kitchen was leaking everywhere and there was a persistent damp smell from it.
Very nice place to stay! As an alone travel, I felt safe and the atmosphere welcoming!
It has an amazing location with friendly people, and the staff were fab. They helped me out with the last few cents of the bus fare to see the falls, super generous of them. The tours around the city are great also, highly recommended. Loved it.
The hostel is in a neat historic building thats a little run down. It could do with a lot of updates, but you really cant ask for a better location. Its huge, so expect lots of people of all ages in the dorms. My 6-person dorm was a bit cramped, but it was arranged in a way that my bunk was kind of in its own nook. The common bathrooms werent greatno space to set your things while you shower, and not enough showers. But a good affordable place overall.
A great hostel in probably the best location you can get in Quebec city. Met some really nice people here and the staff are super friendly (even though I couldn't speak French). Would definitely recommend!
Loved my stay here! Great location, the showers and bathrooms were clean, the rooms too. Would be a 10/10 if they added curtains to the beds in dorms and a fan (it got really hot some days). They could also offer activities in the evenings to make the atmosphere even better. The staff was really kind and helpful!
Loved this hostel! The staff gave us a great overview of the city map when we checked in, and the free walking tour was a great perk. The beds were comfy and all facilities were clean. Free coffee but no breakfast. Located in a cute touristy area, a good central location but most of the food options nearby are expensive.
This was my second stay here and I've been very impressed both times. Fantastic location for a decent price, the amenities are simple but perfectly reasonable and everything is very well organised and very clean. Staff is friendly and the whole atmosphere of the hostel is very welcoming. Would highly recommend!
Had a wonderful time here . Nice and cozy place in middle of the city. All tourist attractions is nearby from this location and there are nice eatery around the hostel.Staff is very friendly and helpful.Room and washroom is pretty clean, but the fan runs on a very slow speed :D.
Great place to stay, and killer location!
I have stayed here 2 years in a row and it is like a home away from home. So friendly and so very comfortable with a beautiful courtyard. Close to everything!
The most important thing I liked is the staff who are welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere was too good to sit and have coffee. Safe lockers, clean cots and good washrooms. Every penny worth the stay. Hopefully, I use this app over and over again.
Super nice and clean hostel, although most rooms overlook the courtyard, the doors slam super loud and the bunks are all so squeaky it makes it hard to get some rest :(
This hostel was a perfectly fine place to rest your head at night but it was pretty quiet with not a lot going on. That said, the location was greatwalking distance from everything there is to see in the city. Facilities are clean but, nothing fancy, and the communal areas could use a refresh as they aren't that inviting / well set up. On a side note, I do not recommend the walking tour they haveit's very boring. Ultimately, you're paying for the location more than anything else.
Great hostel with a great location in the middle of the city. Friendly staff and clean facilities!
Come and enjoy an unforgettable experience in the beautiful Quebec City Region. We are in a great location, nestled inside the walls in the center of the old city. You will be steps away from popular cultural, historical and tourist sites.
The staff at the Auberge internationale de Québec are ready to welcome you. When you enter our hostel, you immediately sense the warmth, friendliness, comfort and safety.
