• The bottom station of the cable car to Velika planina is located in Kamniška Bistrica, only 3km before the ending of the valley. It is 10km away from the town Kamnik.
• From Kamnik:
• We recommend that you follow the signs from Kamnik to Kamniška Bistrica- Gornji Grad. The road turns left in the town Stahovica (after 6km), where you follow the signs for Kamniška Bistrica and for the bottom station of the cable car. After 4 km, you will notice a parking space on your right and a car cable station on your left.
• From Maribor:
• We recommend that you take the motorway A2/E57. You exit immediately after the toll station Vransko. The road turns right after a few kilometres (direction: Kamnik) and you continue your drive through the valley Tuhinjska dolina. You will arrive to Kamnik after 20 kilometres and continue from there (see the instructions for the direction from Kamnik). You can also continue driving on the motorway to the exit Krtina and then follow the signs to Kamnik. The road leads through the towns Dob, Radomlje and Volčji Potok.
• From Jože Pučnik Airport Ljubljana:
• Jože Pučnik Airport Ljubljana is 28 km distant from the bottom station of the cable car. Continue driving on the local road from the direction of Ljubljana (follow the signs Ljubljana – Kamnik). Turn left after 12 km at the crossroads in Moste and follow the signs for Kamnik (for the continuation of your journey see the instruction for the direction from Kamnik).
• From upper station of cable car you should ask for jepp to take you till the chalet Zlatica. Or - if you decide to walk - just follow the road till restaurant Zeleni rob. At the restaurant you take the road on your right and walk for 200 meters. After 200 meters is chalet Zlatica on your left.
