Code Hostel is a clean and cozy boutique hostel for the right "home-away-from-home" feeling, in a perfect location.

The Location

Code Hostel in Edinburg, Scotland is located in the New Town, in short walking distance to the main train station (Waverley Station) and Princess Street, from where you can catch its many double-decker buses. If you plan to explore Edinburgh's Old Town on foot, the famous Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle are only a ten-minute walk away and easy to find. Hidden in one of the quiet back lanes of the Shopping District, Code Hostel is only a few steps away from famous Rose Street. Here you can mix and mingle with nine-to-five workers and fellow travelers in bars and pubs at the end of your sightseeing day to sample Edinburgh's new-age craft-beer scene.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The hostel has 30 beds in shared dorms of four and six beds and also offers a female only dorm. The sleeping pods are handcrafted and specifically built into the room to give each traveler the most privacy and space available. Each pod contains a reading light, small shelf, and curtain to block out light and noise. In-room lockers are provided to stow away your luggage and valuables. The mixed bathrooms are found next to the dorm rooms, and offer clean, bright, modern, hotel-type facilities with power showers. If you are travelling as a couple and looking for that extra bit of privacy, Code Hostel Edinburgh offers a unique Penthouse-style apartment with double bed, full kitchen, roof terrace, and private bathroom facilities for your own use.

Common Spaces

As you will be spending most of your time out-of-doors exploring this UNESCO World Heritage town, checking out the history-laden castle sitting on top of an old volcanic rock, its hidden alleyways, and award-winning museums, Code Hostel offers a relatively small common area. The reception hall includes an integrated, modern-style, open kitchen. Here you can cook yourself some Scottish haggis or fish-and-chips for dinner, play with your laptop or smart phone, read a book, watch TV, chat with your mates, or question the reception staff about the latest Scottish fashion trends.

Summary

All in all, this is a friendly, clean place where you feel welcome and looked after. It's close to Edinburgh's main attractions, in addition to excellent transport facilities. This place is easy to find, and hard to leave -- it's perfect for single travelers, small groups, and couples.

It is one of the best places I have stayed in! Very clean and the staff are very kind! I would definitely stay next time when I visit Edinburgh next time!

We are located within walking distance of most major sights and we are conveniently located on connections from and to the airport. The train and bus station are just a few minutes by foot from our hostel.

Combining the innovative, modern design with the traditional materials and elegance of a listed red brick building, CoDE Pod Hostels aim to provide the best possible accommodation, atmosphere and experience for our guests.

Our sophisticated ‘Pods’ (we’ve gone beyond traditional bunk beds here) are designed with maximum comfort and privacy in mind. Our kitchen and communal area are intelligently laid out to ensure those who stay here can relax and unwind, and, if they choose to do so, meet and mingle with interesting new people, as part of their hostel experience.
