Selina Playa Venao is located on the remote beach of Playa Venao, on the Pacific side of Panama. It has a great swimming pool, a big bar, and a beach volleyball court. It is built on the beach and it has direct access to the water. It looks more like a resort than a hostel.
As mentioned, it is located right on the beach, in Playa Venao. There is a shuttle from Selina Pedasi that goes there four times a day and a public bus that goes three times a day. The stop is right in front of the hostel, on the main road, and it needs a five-minute walk to get to the reception. The area is remote and there is not much around besides a few other hostels, one small supermarket, and some restaurants.
Rooms and Bathrooms
It has a different choice of private rooms and dorms. Dorms can be from six to twelve beds, at different prices. Mattresses are new and each bed has plugs for electricity and a light. Lockers are available but one needs to have his own padlock. There is air conditioning and there is also a fan, so the temperature is nice. Bathrooms are inside the room and there are also some common ones around the pool area. There is hot water in the shower. Soap is available but not shampoo. Everything is kept clean, and bed sheets can be changed daily upon request.
Common spaces are very nice and the hostel has a lot to offer. There is a big pool in the center with a huge bar area with tables and chairs and a common kitchen on the other side that guests can use free of charge. There is also a relaxing area with sofas and hammocks that faces directly the ocean. There is a room with TV and Netflix, and some books. It is also available a working space but you need to pay extra for it.
A beach volleyball court is located right in front of the pool and the staff arranges tournament everyday at 4 p.m., giving a free beer to the winning team. Many activities are organized, such as pool tournaments, yoga, running, and beach cleaning, and it is very easy to meet people. It has a party vibe on the weekend when loud music is played until 3 a.m., while it is more quiet during the week.
All in all, it is a high-quality hostel that seems like a resort. It's very easy to socialize as several activities are organised by the staff. The area is remote and Selina is the common point for all those travelers that visit the area.
