Location
• Mallki Hostel’s address is 1-34 Aurelio Aguilar, on the intersection with large Avenida Solano and just past Colegio Benigno Malo.
• Mallki is next door to historic Benigno Malo and a wine shop. We’re two blocks from the river and three from Calle Larga, where you’ll find the best bars and cafes. Venture further and you’ll find museums, parks, cathedrals, open-air markets and historic sites.
• From the hostel, you can quickly walk to ATMs, tiendas, the supermarket, and tasty restaurants ranging from Mexican and McDonalds to traditional almuerzos. We’re less than a 10-minute ride from the airport or bus terminal.
• Directions
• Arriving in Cuenca: The bus terminal (Terminal Terrestre) and the airport are three blocks apart, so the bus and taxi directions are the same regardless of how you arrive. The bus stops at both the airport and terminal.
• Bus directions: Take bus line #7 for about 20 minutes. After 15 minutes the bus will arrive at the river. Take it for 5 minutes more, until it stops just before Benigno Malo, a huge gothic-style brick high school with red domes. Get off the bus and walk a block more, until you pass the high school. Take the first right (at the wine shop), and you will find Mallki Hostel two houses down the block. It’s a blue building with yellow walls and a large sign above the gate. The bus will cost 25 cents.
• Taxi directions: Give the taxi driver the address, and ask them to take the first right after Colegio Benigno Malo (la primera calle a la derecha despues del Benigno Malo). The taxi will take about 10 minutes, and should cost 3 dollars.
