Khaosan is one of the largest hostel chains in Japan and International Hostel Khaosan Sapporo offers everything you could need for a great stay.
International Hostel Khaosan Sapporo is located in a really location that's handy to many sightseeing attractions, as well as to public transportation. The hostel is just a five-minute walk away from Sapporo's entertainment district -- Susukino, which is home to many restaurants, bars, and shops and is also home to the famous Ramen Alley. Other Sapporo attractions like the TV Tower and Odori Park are also within easy walking distance.
The closest subway station to the hostel is Susukino and it is less than a ten-minute walk away. Susukino Station is just a few stops from the JR Sapporo Station, which has connections to the rest of Hokkaido as well as the airport. The highway bus terminal is also found adjacent to the JR Station. If you are traveling to or from the airport, you can also catch the Airport Bus, which stops near Susukino Subway Station. The hostel is on a quiet street just behind an elementary school, which means it doesn't get too noisy at night.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are a range of different rooms -- including dorm and private rooms -- at this hostel. Dorm rooms are available in mixed or female-only dorms, and with only four beds in each, it is not too crowded. The beds are a combination of bunks and futons on the tatami mat floor, so it is a good way to experience a traditional Japanese night's sleep. Private rooms are more common in this hostel and come in a wide range of sizes to accommodate different groups including single, twin, and double rooms all the way up to six-bed rooms. All rooms are Japanese style with tatami mat flooring as well as a small sitting area with tables and cushions.
Bathrooms are shared although many of the private rooms have en suite, which are the typical small-size bathroom with shower/bathtub and toilet and not much more room. Free shampoo and body soap are also provided in the bathrooms.
Khaosan has a large common area on the ground floor. The kitchen is quite large and has everything you need to whip up a quick , stove tops, microwave, and toaster oven. There is also a large lounge area with bean bags and tables as well as free to use computers. Wi-Fi is also available for free throughout the hostel. In the basement, you can also find a games room with table tennis, but it was looking a bit neglected during our stay.
International Hostel Khaosan Sapporo is a great option for anyone visiting Sapporo, and offers clean rooms with everything you could need for a perfect stay.
