• From the airport, or a ferry dock, tell a taxi driver you are heading to Tillett Gardens in Tutu, across from the Puma gas station and the fire station.
• Directions to Tillett Hostel from the airport:
• First things First...we drive on the left. KEEP LEFT!
• So if you get a rental at the airport, after you leave, you'll exit the airport and drive alongside the runway. At the end, there will be a light. Turn Right. You'll be heading East.
• You'll stay on this road, not turning at all though it curves a lot, several lights, a school on your Right, pass along the waterfront on your right (called downtown Charlotte Amalie) which will curve around to Yacht Haven Grande, you'll see a sign on your right that says something like 'walk-way to the cruise ships' which is just after the curve, then there will be a light. Turn Right.
• (Keep on the Left side of the road!)
• On your right, there will be the Yacht Haven Grande Shopping...on your left are apartments. Go to the intersection where on your left is a half empty lot/gas station. There is a Wendy's diagonally across to your right at this intersection. TURN LEFT.
• You'll go a little bit straight...Kmart on your left, Pueblos Grocery on your right. Come to the next light...TURN RIGHT. Go up up up Raphune Hill. KEEP LEFT!
• After going up Raphune Hill, you come down...curve around a few times, Randy's Bistro sign on your right, keep going, Pricesmart on your right, curve sharp left, coconut stand in front of you, then come to a large intersection where Banco Popular Bank is on your right, car sales on your left, entrance to Tutu Park Mall on your left (Kmart, Plaza Extra on your left). GO STRAIGHT THROUGH this intersection. After this, you'll pass a McDonald's on your left...keep going...another light...a 24/7 gas station Bon Jour on your left...another light. Right after the Bon Jour gas station, you’ll see a blue building on your right, Eloi Leather and Crafts. This is the back entrance of Tillett Gardens. You can turn right in here and drive past the blue building to the parking lot or if you go up to the light, TURN RIGHT. You'll see Puma Gas Station (used to be Texaco), and then directly across from Puma (almost behind you) is Tillett Gardens...you'll see a red, blue, yellow sun sign...that's US! It's our parking lot. You’ll walk in past the restaurant and see Rhoda’s Guest House behind the fountain, with the pink, purple and blue curly bannisters.
