Brief introduction
Griffin Falls Camp is on the edge of a vast trail system in beautiful Mabira Forest with access to Griffin Falls and Namusa Hill. It is conveniently located between Kampala and Jinja. All the profits are put into sustainable development projects in the villages in and around Mabira Forest.
Description
The property is surrounded by rain forest and exists on completely renewable resources (rain water catch and solar power). Operated by MAFICO (an NGO representing the communities around Mabira Forest), the camps purpose is to generate funds for sustainable community projects. Griffin Falls Camp has self contained rooms, a secluded banda, dorm style beds as well as plenty of room to camp with rented or personal tents. Our experienced guides offer guided nature walks, birding, overnight forest adventures and a cultural tour of the small village of Wasswa.
Mabira Forest has an enormous biodiversity comprising 315 bird species, 312 tree species, 218 species of butterflies, 97 species of moths, 40 species of small mammals including the red - tailed monkeys, vervets, grey-cheeked mangabeys and many nocturnal animals

Location
Located in Ugandas Central Region, Griffin Falls Camp is located between Kampala and Jinja, just off the highway after a 10k drive through 10 km of beautiful sugar cane fields. Mabira Forest is one of few remaining rain forests. It covers a total area of 306 sq km and has remarkable biodiversity. Come see monkeys and beautiful tropical birds as well as mammoth trees and a beautiful waterfall. The trail system takes you through pristine wilderness on and is suitable for any skill level.
