Holmhead Camping Barn sits in a beautifully quiet location in a sheltered valley next to the Tipalt Burn and beneath the ruins of Thirlwall Castle. Built in 1800 with Hadrians Wall stone, the barn is bordered by open fields and has stunning views south towards the North Pennines, whilst to the north lies the Northumberland National Park and Thirlwall Castle. Holmhead is built over the foundations of Hadrian’s Wall and is directly on the Pennine Way and Hadrian’s Wall National Trails.
Description:
The barn is divided into two sections, each with open-plan sleeping arrangements:-
• Barn 1 A barn with south-facing double-glazed ‘French’ windows, mezzanine floor with 1x single and 1x double mattresses plus three fold-up mattresses which make single beds. Door to rear garden, toilet, shower and kitchenette with gas hob, microwave, sink, cooking and eating utensils etc. this section will sleep up to 6 people.
• Barn 2 A barn that has one bunk (for 2), two single beds and a double bed and some seating. There is a rear door allowing access to a shower + toilet / washbasin which is in an outbuilding. There is also a door to Barn 1, for access to further toilet and shower and the cooking facilities.

• Bed spaces with mattresses, bunk and beds

• Showers/ wash basin with hot and cold water
• Kitchenette with hob, microwave, cooking utensils and washing-up facilities
There is also a private garden for use by barn guests and this also can be used for tent pitches
