Tomato Backpackers Hotel Reviews

Tomato Backpackers Hotel is a great, chilled-out, and friendly hostel! You can't go wrong!

The Location

Tomato Backpackers Hostel is located a seven-minute walk from the Porto Nuovo train station, four minutes from the main street with all of the public transport, about thirty minutes' walk from all of the stunning sights of Torino in the centre, and right around the corner from a supermarket. It is a super conveniently located hostel.

Rooms and Bathrooms

The rooms here are really spacious and nice. There is usually a bunk with two beds and two singles in a room. They have shelving space, lockers (for which they provide keys), a lamp and a power outlet per bed, and towels free of charge. The beds are really cozy and there are extra blankets if you need.

The bathrooms are included off the side of the rooms. They are quite small but are kept fairly clean. The showers can be a little bit iffy sometimes with hot water and pressure, but this is the only thing for which you could fault this hostel.

Common Spaces

There is a large cafe area in the main reception where you can chill out and meet people and get some food. While they do not have a kitchen for guests, they do have soups, salads, and sandwiches available for purchase, and they will also heat food up for you in a microwave if you need. There is also a water dispenser which does hot, cold, and fizzy water. Off the cafe out back, there is a large garden area where you can sit and enjoy some sun as well. Downstairs is a large living room with couches, games, and a computer that you can use if you need. The area is large and open and a cool place to hang out.

Tomato Backpackers Hostel is a really great stay! The staff are a really nice team of people and will help you put where they can. The reception times are 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., so if you need anything outside of this time then you can contact them and they will get it sorted for you. The whole place has a really chilled-out vibe and it is easy to meet people just having about in the cafe, so it is social without being a party hostel. This is definitely a highly recommended place to stay in Torino!

Amazing hostel, even had a guitar!! Hope to be back in the future

Amazing! Staying here was more like a hotel experience to me. Very comfortable and the private room came with AC and a fan. My favorite part of the room was the balcony, perfect for sitting in the evenings. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the location convenient, and overall the place was very clean. Stay here when visiting Torino!

Super,I definitely will stay there again. Easy to find, and loved the atmosphere.

Amazing hostel! It was super clean and felt very comfortable in the room. The staff were also very nice and helpful with local recommendations. Keep in mind that it was a family hostel so if youre looking for a chill/quiet hostel this is the one. It was about a 20 minute walk from city centre.

Excellent hostel - only sad I wasn't staying for very long! A really friendly welcome when I arrived, lots of helpful info, the dorm room was clean and smart, great facilities including some of the best communal space I've seen in a hostel. Really great - highly recommend! When I come back to Turin I'll definitely be looking to stay here :)

Everything was great!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in. Great location, excellent facilities and really friendly staff. Will definitely be back when I'm next in Turin!

I really liked this hostel, I highy recommend!

The staff was incredibly nice and gave great tips on things to visit in the city

Great common areas, perfect for meeting people and socializing

The free water dispenser (still and sparkling) was probably my favorite feature

Very clean

The breakfast could have more options than just cake and coffee

A bell at the lobby would be useful in case the staff is not at the reception

Great experience overall :D

Fantastic place to stay, staff were very helpful, everything was comfortable and clean 10/10

Clean, quiet, aircon, friendly staff, secure, and has a lift.

Not a party hostel, yet nearby to many bars/restaurants. Highly recommend staying here.

I found the place to be beautiful and the staff was perfect.

Needed a bed for the night, however got to the hostel several hours after check-in so there was no one working. However the hostel owners were very prepared for such a thing and provided me a code to enter the building and room. Beds were clean, and the AC in the room worked well enough. Didn't get a chance to see the rest of the facilities or really meet any people unfortunately, but definitely would choose to stay here again next time I am in Turin.

Nice place to stay, clean, good location and the staff is awesome!

Sweet spot with really great facilities. Cheers to Tom for the hospitality

great place!

An amazing hostel! This place is spotlessly clean and really attractive. Ben at reception was really helpful with advice about Torino (which is an incredible city by the way). This hostel is professionally run and it shows. I highly recommend this hostel and look forward to stay there again.

Amazing stay. Staff are very nice and the common room is amazing. Very eco friendly as well. Fully recommend

Great place to stay, friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Excellent stay at Tomato in Torino

My stay there was perfect! 10/10

Tomato Backpackers is the ideal place where curious travelers can stop by to live the city of Turin.

The building is located in San Salvario area, in the center of the city, few minutes walk from the Porta Nuova train station, the bus stop to Caselle airport and the metro station.
Moreover, this area is very well-served by public transport and just three blocks from the Valentino Park, the historical green area along the Po river.

There are 19 rooms (singles, doubles, one triple and dorms), all with a private bathroom, 200 m2 of common areas and a private backyard. So, at Tomato there's room to share ideas and experiences with the other guests in complete relax.

The Staff will help you to explore Turin, supporting you to choose among the museums and the cultural events and to find the restaurants, the clubs and the bars that satisfy your expectations.

Discover the city center walking, or rent some bikes from the bike sharing nearby!

Our breakfast is very simple and devoid of packaged products; there are recycling bins on every floor, dispenser for soap and shampoo/shower gel in each bathroom and a free water (still, sparkling and hot for free tea) supplier at the bar - instead of polluting plastic bottles.

Our concern for the environment has been officially recognized by the European Ecolabel, an environmental-friendliness certificate that requires the passing of many strict tests.

The atmosphere of Tomato Backpackers is informal: you can sit at the table in front of the bar and chat with other guests, or play guitar or ping pong.
We chose not to have television! If you want to enjoy some peacefulness, you can use the backyard and borrow a book from our well-provided bookshelves.
If you want to write home, remember that wi-fi is free and accessible in the whole structure; there is also an internet point (1 computer) you can always use for free.

In San Salvario area, you can eat almost any kind of food: from the ethnic restaurants to the most renowned ones, every kind of food is at hand.

Last but not least, don't miss the night life: local people come to this area to have fun and to share a night off with friends.
