Villingen. Historic fortifications and towers, the minster and picturesque streets characterise the townscape. Life in Villingen is colourful. And was colourful. Even 1,000 years ago, Villingen was granted the right to hold markets. The social life then, the social life today: there are small shops and cafes to explore on a walk through the pedestrian zone. The minster and Franciscan Museum are in the old part of town.
The world's largest "clock town". This was what Schwenningen was once called. You can relive history in the Local History and Clock Museum. The "Villinger carnival" and Villinger Jazz Days are well-known far beyond the region.
And then get out of town. Fancy a hike in the large forest areas around Villingen? Or would you prefer to go to the Schwenninger Moos Nature Reserve? A river rises on the hill moor here: the river Neckar.
The Villingen Youth Hostel team is looking forward to your visit!
