Getting to Lofoten Vandrerhjem can be a little tricky, but a small bus meets all ferries from Moskenes. The Lofotens, including Lofoten, are a brilliant place. The town is quite small and it is easy to find the hostel when you arrive.
The hostel itself is spread out across a number of buildings (although the main building, which is red, is where reception can be found) and is near the only shop in town. The staff are friendly and accommodation is well priced for Norway. The hostel also hires out rorbu (fishermen's cottages), although these are considerably more expensive.
The rooms are well maintained although the air conditioning is virtually nonexistent. Facilities are adequate, although security is rather lax so is is well worth considering bringing padlocks. There is a common area to meet other hostelers and most of the rooms have access to fridge/cooking equipment.
