Great WiFi, everything else bad
This place seemed terrible at first. The people working at the reception desk asked for my reservation number, took my money, gave me my room key, and turned away from me, not having told me a single thing about the hostel or Bergen itself. The staff here is a real mixed bag. Likes -- Spectacular WiFi, great location. Dislikes -- Cramped rooms, limited bathroom facilities, no storage lockers, no real common areas, a cramped kitchen, no real atmosphere, no good recommendations for things to do/see, places to go.
Good overall
Excellent location in a beautiful part of the city. We didn't have to walk for more than a few minutes to get anywhere. The central train/bus station is only 15 minutes walk. The facilities are very nice and the rooms comfortable. Better lockers would make me feel more confident about leaving belongings in the room.
Great location, simple but good dorms!
Location is really great, in the middle of the city. The opening hours of the reception could be a bit more extended, it felt weird to arrive without any support, but it worked well with the codes. Dorm is simple but fine, nice to have private bathroom per dorm. They should improve the quality of the lockers (these are not very secure).
100% yes
Perfect accommodation in the city center. Nice people, excellent place. Roof terrace made the biggest impression -- breakfast there is like next magical moment in Bergen. We stayed in female dormitory, was really quiet and calm. Everything was clean and pleasant. Cool place to stay.
Great Location, Little Sleep
We stayed just one night in this hostel, in the big 32bed dorm. If you just need a bed for a night this place is fine, but I wouldn't stay more than that, as you'd get no sleep at all! Although everyone seemed pretty considerate while we were there. They have smaller dorms that might be better. Common room and kitchen are great and a good place to meet people. Fantastic location, couldn't ask for a better spot! Surprisingly clean for such a massive place.
Great hostel!
Located behind the fish market, everything is so close. the staff is really friendly and helpful. But there are also a few bad things -- the showers are not hot at all, they are not cold but absolutely not hot. also the luggage room is really small so all the bags are on top of other bags so you can't even get inside. And the most important thing -- no washing machines!! in fact, in the whole city there isn't even one washing place. But beside that a really cool place.
Very good place to stay (if your first criteria is not privacy!)
Before I arrived to this hostel, I was a bit afraid due to some comments I read in a very well known tourist guide. But upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised. Everything is clean and tidy. I opted for a 32 bed room but ended up in 16 bed dormitory. All the beds are very close to each other, but this is not really a problem, everyone in this hostel is very respectful and do not make noise after 10pm. The only negative point is the showers which are conveniently located and look like communal showers (showers are used in pairs). Anyway, any negative point can be compensated by its wonderful location, just next to the harbour. So overall, very good experience!
Cramped, insufficient common areas.
Stayed in a 16-bed dorm. Actually slept just fine, but the common areas -- kitchen, lounge, shower room, and bathrooms -- were incredibly small to accommodate the number of guests in the hostel. (Trying to even get into the kitchen in the evening to make some tea was virtually impossible.) Wi-fi was not working while I was there. The staff seemed overwhelmed at times. They worked hard to keep it clean, but bathrooms and kitchen suffered from so many people using them. Inconvenient location for the women's shower room.
Liked: position Didn't like: safe.
Very central location, good facilities (kitchen, lounge room, dining room) and helpful staff
Good common areas
Staff very helpful with precise with information and details.
Great location.
Rooms are comfortable and clean.
Common areas are well provided.
Great price.
Liked: I would like to recommend YMCA hostel in Bergen. It is very clean and fantastic located! Higly recommend! Didn't like: none
Liked: The people are so friendly and the beds are super comfy Didn't like: Nothing
Liked: Good location. Staff were very flexible as we had to alter our booking last minute, and they were very accommodating. Didn't like: Common areas were ok, but the corridors and rooms didnt' have a welcoming atmosphere. All doors had swipe card access, but there wasnt any real security as everyone left them open all the time. If you left the room the door didn't swing close and lock behind you, unless you pulled it. There were no lockers in the room, they were avaialble downstairs next to reception if you asked. Stayed in a 6 bed dorm,. It was very small and didn't have enough room for suitcases for any more than 3 people.
Great everything it's ok
Liked: The location is perfect and very easy to reach with every means of transport. I appreciated the kitchen and the luggage room. Beds are large and comfortable. Showers are well organized and clean if you think you share them with many other people. Didn't like: Unfortunately they have just a toilet for each floor and hostel isn't provided with a washing machine.
Liked: Location, otherwise meh Didn't like: Atmosphere, hostel culture, lack of community building. Open showers
Lovely hostel, great location and a kitchen id love to have at home. really fantastic. Staff were super friendly and knowledgeable of things to do and see in Bergen. Special thanks to the Belgian heroine, Ann Catrina, thanks for everything!
the internet is not so good and the room is not so new,but the staff is nice
Very good place, and not expensive, considering prices in Norway...
The room was very seedy
Low quality/High price
Perfect location, very very friendly staff.
Breakfast NOK 65.-, better than average, many juices, coffee, tea, sausages, cheese, nutella, cereals, cucumber, tomatos..... well... really friendly and welcoming.
Rooms are quiet, public Lockers NOK 10.- deposit.

This was my first ever stay at a hostel and I was very surprised in a good way at how clean it was and the staff were very helpful with my questions
I would definitely stay there again and would recommend if you looking for a cheap room !
Great value and location!!! Best place in Bergen
Excellent location and view, but the rooms were tiny (as in about 50cm between the wall and the bunk bed) and the bathroom flooded (although they kindly gave you a squiggy to clean up the water)!!
Youth environment, well located and friendly stuff ... I had a good time there.
