• Traveling by BUS:
• There is a direct bus to Santa Teresa which stops directly in front Don Jon*s entrance. The buses are modern, comfortable, and with air conditioning. Travel time is about 6 hours and the cost about 15 dollars including ferry ticket
• The bus departs from terminal de bus '710' in downtown San Jose near Coca Cola bus station also . The schedule is 6 am and 2 pm daily, take the bus with destination Malpais / Santa Teresa. Once the bus enters Santa Teresa, stay on the bus and we are 150 meters past the soccer field. Ask the bus driver to stop in our front door.
• Traveling by CAR:
• About 1 hour faster travel time than the bus, total 5.5 hours travel time. Check the current ferry schedules departing from Puntarenas they vary from low season to high season. You will need to buy tickets for the car and/or passengers
• From San Jose drive to Caldera in the new free way then to Puntarenas and board the ferry to Paquera
• In Paquera follow traffic towards Tambor then Cobano
• From Cobano, drive 11 Km towards Malpais / Santa Teresa
• Drive through Santa Teresa about 2 Km
• After passing the soccer field in 150 mtrs to the right is DON JON*S
• Traveling by AIRPLANE:
• A 45 minute flight from San Jose to Tambor and then about 45 minutes drive to Santa Teresa making it the fastest way to get here. Make reservations with Nature Air or Sansa Airlines. Flight tickets cost about $60-$100 one way. A taxi from Tambor to Santa Teresa is about 45 dollars
• PRIVATE SHUTTLE companies will also transfer you directly from your departure location to our door step. We can arrange this service, the cost is about 45 to 50 dollars
