Description

Officially opened in 2001 this traditional building is set on the banks of the Inny River amid stunning landscape in a progressive Gaeltacht area just off the Kerry Way
This Hostel is opened to groups all year round and is especially suited to walking groups because of natural walks in the area, school outings or retreats because of access to a state of the art sports hall which adjoins the hostel.
It is a community owned and run hostel.

Location

• Address: Cillin Liath, Mastergeehy near Waterville
• All buses are on the Ring of Kerry road; we're 7km inland to the left, off the ring road at St. Finian’s Church. (Sign posts at this point).
• Driving directions to Waterville, Co. Kerry from Kilarney: the Bru na Dromoda / Dromid Hostel is situated in South West Kerry, about 7km off the main Ring of Kerry Road (N70).
• From Killarney take the N70 road to Killorglin and then follow the directions from Killorglin, Glenbeigh and Cahirciveen. Just before you come to Cahersiveen on the main N70 road you will see a junction to your left sign posted for Bru na Dromoda/Dromid Hostel. Take this turn and follow the road until come to a junction. Take the right turn, signposted for Bru Na Dromoda/ Dromid Hostel. Follow this road through the forestry until you come to a crossroads. Turn left. We are the next entrance on the left after the Church. As you enter the site, the hostel is directly in front of you.
• If you stay on the N70 (Ring of Kerry road) you can also access it by going through Cahersiveen town, until you come to a church on your right hand side. Take a left around the wall of the Church and continue for about 8km. Go through a cross roads and you will see the Hostel on your left.
• Another option is: Bru na Dromoda/Dromid Hostel can also be accessed from Killarney via a secondary road over the Ballaghisheen Pass by following signs for Waterville.
