Thessaloniki is a beautiful historic port town. RentRooms is in a great place to enjoy the city. Kind, helpful staff, high standards of cleanliness, and a fluffy cat are just some of the features you can expect at this hostel.
RentRooms is the only hostel located within the city walls of Thessaloniki. It is right next to the Rotunda, a popular free attraction. Since this is near the city center, nearly everything is within walking distance. RentRooms is easy to get to. Thessaloniki is serviced with an airport, train station, public bus system, taxi companies, and pedestrian-friendly streets. The hostel does not have designated parking spaces, but there are some nearby. However, with it being a busy area between the university and downtown, it may be difficult to find a close available parking spot. RentRooms has signs on both the front and back of the building, making it easy to identify.
Rooms and Bathrooms
RentRooms has several different options for lodging. Dorms are co-ed or gender-specific, or you could get a private room. Each room is referred to as a different nation, and are marked accordingly by the country's flag. The rooms are decorated according to the nation they represent. All rooms have ensuite bathrooms which are cleaned daily, and many have a balcony. Each guest is issued two keys: a key card to enter the building, and a physical key to unlock the room. There is also the option to get a key for a small locker located on the 2nd floor, although no in-room lockers are available.
RentRooms has an outdoor area doubling as a cafe. Breakfast is served in the morning. Pick from six menu options and unlimited beverages. The kitchen is off-limits to guests, but all rooms do include a fridge to store personal food. The reception area is another popular place to hang out and meet people, with a sofa, computers, a bookcase, free maps, and often a cat! There is also a table and chairs on each floor for those who prefer to retreat to a quieter space.
If you go to Thessaloniki, you really can't go wrong when you stay at RentRooms. The only word of caution is that on your first night, you must arrive before midnight, as reception is closed between midnight and 8am. No matter what you do in northern Greece, RentRooms is a wonderful place to call temporary home at the end of the day!
