Brisbane City Backpackers is a big and friendly hostel in one of the main backpacking hubs in Brisbane. Built in a four-story building, the hostel offers a great backpacking experience in a comfortable environment, featuring juicy assets such as free Wi-Fi, its own bar, and swimming pool -- and most importantly, a wonderful view of the Brisbane City skyline.
The Location
The hostel is located in Upper Rome Street, one of the main backpacking hubs in Brisbane, with plenty of other hostels around it -- it's not uncommon for travelers to go visit friends at the hostel next door and hang there for the evening. As it's not being a very big city, the hostel is a few minutes' walk from the center of town and main touristic and shopping attractions. Close to the building, there is also a big supermarket and many different dining alternatives.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Rooms have comfortable beds and one can easily have a good-sleep night, since the hostel doesn't get too noisy, especially if your room is not close to the bar area. There are sockets available in every room, although not for every individual bed. There's plenty of bathrooms available, all clean and with one or more per level. They will barely get full and you can pretty much always find a free shower at any given time.
Common Spaces
The main hanging area in the hostel is the terrace and bar area, which, altogether with the upper terrace, give an incredible view to the city downtown and are finely decorated giving a cozy and family-like environment. Basically, for every floor of the hostel there is a terrace side, which are all connected with stairs. In other words, you can access the bar terrace from anywhere in the hostel -- then just order a beer, go to the upper terrace, and enjoy the magnificent views!
Apart from the rooftop and terraces, the hostel also has a well-equipped movie theater to watch a series with your friends, and as mentioned before, there's a swimming pool to help you cope with the warm subtropical weather while enjoying those views!
Summary
Brisbane City Backpackers is definitely a hostel we would consider going back to again if we happen to visit the city another time. Sincerely, just for the views you get from the terrace area, it is well worth it. Altogether with the great vibe and the good sleeping quality, this is no doubt one of our favorite hostels in Australia so far.

• All interstate buses arrive at Roma Street Transit Centre, just 400m from us!

• Airport transfers are available, 'Connexion' bus can bring you to our door for$17 (one way). Alternatively, just look for the train on arrival and grab a ticket to Roma Street Station $18.50 roughly (one way). Just 400m from us!
