Our house is basically a 17th century building with 20th century extensions. It is practically on the pebble beach - in fact if you stand by our front door, on certain days, you will feel the sea spray hit your face. All rooms have a gorgeous view of the sea. Cape Clear is a beautiful island deeply into the Irish language and culture and you can, with prior arrangement, book to learn the language. The island is also a centre for watersports including snorkelling, Kayaking, and fishing. The island is rich in archaeology and tours can be arranged. Whale, dolphin and seal watching trips are readily available and you can often see these wonderful creatures on the 45 minute ferry trip to the island. Visit our website for all of the information you could possibly need www.anoige.fenlon.net. The island is famous for its Storytelling festivals and we often host some of the storytelling sessions during the year, usually May and September. We regularly have musicians staying with us so are often blessed with music and laughter in our lounge, which has an open fire. We are a family orientated hostel and so have a strict no-smoking/no-drinking rule for the comfort of all who stay with us. I regret no dogs or other pets. The three pubs on the island are open right through the summer season. We strive to become ecologically sound by recycling and controlling waste.
