The Pink Palace

The Review

The Pink Palace used to be one of the most famous hostels -- if not the most famous -- in Corfu. It is very big, with three different buildings covered inside and out with its namesake color (pink). It is located on the west side of the island and it is well known by locals and expats, so it is easy to find.

The Location

As mentioned, it is located on the west side of Corfu Island in the village of Agios Gordios. It can be reached by bus from the airport and the harbour, and also the hostel itself organizes some private shuttles. The three buildings that make up the hostel are quite close to each other, but the first one is on top of a hill and the last one is down the beach, so it is quite a long walk (about fifteen minutes from the two). Parking is available for free to customers, so it’s an advantage for those renting a car. In the little village you can find supermarkets, shops, and all kind of services. However it is a bit of a walk from the hostel, especially the beach building, to the village.

Rooms and Bathrooms

It offers all different type of accommodations, including dorms and privates. When the hostel is full, customers can be spread across the three locations, but when there are not many people, all guests go to the building by the beach, which also has a bar, a pool, and some sport fields. Rooms are fairly big and clean. Bathrooms as well are clean and are found all around the hostel. Some rooms also have en suite bathrooms. There is hot water in the shower and soap is provided.

Common Spaces

Common spaces are the best thing about this hostel. There is a large swimming pool, a gym that guests can use free of charge, a volleyball court, and a basketball court. Also, there is a bar that faces the beach where parties are organized at night. Unfortunately, only a few guests were staying when we visited, so the vibe is pretty much nonexistent and no activities are organized. It used to be an amazing place to meet other people, but now we find that with few guests it is hardly possible to meet fellow travelers.

All in all, prices are above average for hostels in Corfu. Once known as a party spot, now this hostel can be a good choice for those looking for quite a time on a higher-average type of hostel.

Party place
Stayed at this party hostel! When you want to party in Corfu, this is the place to be. It is not for families or anyone who seeks a quiet, chill out hostel!
Worst ever
Traveled in 70 countries, worst place I've ever stayed in, by far! We were actually downgraded, charged too much. Sometimes they make you pay for the dinner, but on their webpage it's included. Not worth the money -- cheap and tasted like it. Many around 20 completely wasted and partying loud around the jacuzzi after 2am. We stayed by the pool and after hearing what went on at night, someone would have had to pay me to step into that pool. Lots of steps, bar not that cheap, and a very rocky beach -- I was a little afraid to go in, a slip might easily end up with a twisted ankle or a fractured skull. Basically a party hostel for youth and always trying to get an extra euro out of you. And they will keep your passport and are reluctant to give it back before leaving -- highly unusual and actually against EU regulations.

Very good hostel
Beautiful setting in the hills. Very good hostel, helpful staff and the food was good too.
Good hostel, Friendly, cheap and close to all amenities
I stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks and the hostel was clean and friendly, I would come back here and stay. The food was good too.
Party like a 15 year old ...
Horrible! Me and my friend stayed for one night and couldn't get away fast enough. The place was filled with drunk people behaving like underage teens who accidentally got into a bar. Disgusting stories from their activities, can't be repeated here. We got a free ride there but just when we where leaving we got to hear it would cost us 5 euros. Breakfast is included in the price, but it's not too good and if you want water you are going to have buy it. Our room was dirty. Staff where doing a lot of promoting. On one activity you get free drinks by getting naked. This kind of summarizes that.
Pink Palace is the place to be
My stay at pink palace can be summed up in one word AMAZING!!! My best friend and i stay at pink palace for two weeks, We enjoyed our self immensely. The service is great before you even arrive to the hostel. they provide free pick up from the port/or airport. the environment of the hostel was resort like. They offer free breakfast and dinner, which by the way was really good. The rooms are very cozy also offering a balcony allowing you to view the amazing scenery. We were only minutes from the beach which was great and there is also a jacuzzi. It was very relaxing in the day and fun in the night. There is always something to do so we were never bored. They offered kayaking for only 15 euros for the day. for only 20 euros we got a tour of the island on a atv safari which was so worth it. The night life was great they had parties every night located on the resort which was a bonus. The rooms were great very quite so the nights when we decide to stay in so we were not disturbed. hot showers fresh linen, towels and clean room every day. oh and there was FREE WIFI. I mean what more could you ask. i recommended it to anyone who is visiting corfu island.

A little Paradise on the Beach!
Pink Palace is located at Agios Gordios Beach on Corfu island in Greece, and is the first island when you come to Greece across from Italy, is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed at. It's relaxed during the day and when busy a party at night. It's built into a hillside right above one of the nicest beaches on Corfu, surrounded by green, beach, and mountains. There's snorkeling and cliff-diving right there. Prices are from 20 to 30 euro for small dorms or private hotel rooms, including a full breakfast and restaurant-quality 3 course home cooked dinner. It's family-run, and the atmosphere is really friendly. The owners will help you out with whatever you need, calling Greek travel agents or renting Quad. There's linens, internet, FREE WIFI and laundry service. They do it for you. And the sunset views are the best on the island. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is heading to Corfu, they have something to suit everybody, the rooms are amazing, daily cleaning service, spotless, huge tasty dinners, relaxing beach walks, and the night life is far way from the rooms, so you do not have to worry about noise. We also met families staying there with young children and they loved it. Definitely go kayaking and enjoy the amazing views. Would go back any time, most travelers i met there extended their stay.

Relaxing beach vacation!
After hearing tons of good things from many friends who travel, I headed down to the Pink Palace for a week with my girlfriend. This place exceeded both of our expectations, which is impressive since I've only ever really heard good things. Beautiful beach, great authentic greek three-course dinners and hearty breakfasts (both of which are included in the room price), incredible staff. There were so many fun activities, we went on a boat cruise and ATVing. The guides were great and definitely made the outings! The free pickup from the airport was a welcomed bonus. All in all, a great romantic getaway, super relaxing, and an unbeatable price! The perfect beach vacation!
