Among the four Youth Hostels existing in Madeira archipelago, Porto Santo's Hostel was the only one to be built for the effect. In 1995, it began to function with 33 beds distributed by 11 rooms (currently male section). In 2000, it underwent some renovation, having been improved the hall and reception, as well the bathing areas.
Finally, in the summer of 2002, it started to count on a new section of 34 beds (female section), completing the initially predicted project.
Porto Santo Youth Centre is a recent youth lodging unit located in one of the most beautiful, paradise-like places in Portugal. If you opt for the Isle of Porto Santo, then you're probably a beach lover. The beach at Porto Santo is known for its 9km-long stretch of sand and for the high quality of its waters.

The Porto Santo's Youth Hostel is situated at Sítio das Matas, opposite the Secondary School of Porto Santo and of the police station. It is around 1 km from the town centre, which corresponds to around 10 minutes on foot.
