Loved it.
I stayed at the beach house with my mother & my 2 boys aged 7 & 11. We loved it.My boys loved the jungle trek to the waterfall,I loved the horse riding along the beach. My mum relaxed on the hammocks, reading books. We all loved the amazing scones in the afternoon. The staff were patient & always in great humour especially when they were teaching my boys to play pool.
We had to return to Sydney because of the Covid 19 but we can't wait to be back.
I love it ... I'd only stay there if you're 18-28 range though
It's a cool chill place for young backpackers lookin to hang out, party, chill with friends, and meet new people. The food is pretty good and the bar is nice. Veggie Burgers are delish. The water is clear and many activities are available. Kayaks are free and they have Hot Water! the dorms are clean and roomy. It's fun and pretty cheap. I love it. it's good for a backpackers resort!
The Beachouse is well established on the backpacker trail in Fiji, and for good reason.
The Location
The hostel is located along Queens Highway on the Coral Coast of Fiji. As it is so well established on the tourist trail, all the bus drivers will know where you want to go and will let you off just outside the door. The hostel is located about halfway between the two main centers of Nadi and Suva, and is about two hours hours from either location. The hostel is located right on the beach, and since it is not near any major town, the facilities contain everything that a resident requires.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The dorms are spacious and airy. There are large cubbies that can be used for storage, and the rooms have plenty of space between beds. Ventilation in the rooms is also very good, and all the beds have small reading lights installed.
Bathrooms are shared, and are extremely clean. The shower cubicles are divided into two compartments, so that there is amble space to store your things and ensure they dont get wet during your shower. Also, the showers have hot water, which is a luxury compared to many other hostels in Fiji.
Common Spaces
Beachouse has a reputation as somewhat of a party hostel and a good place to meet other travelers, and it certainly is. However, it is also quiet and laid back enough that there are plenty of families enjoying their vacation there as well.
There is a large, inside bar area with couches and pool tables, and an even larger outside seating area. Just outside the bar is the outdoor, below-ground pool. On the beach, there are plenty of hammocks and swings suspended from the palm trees. In addition to the pool and the beach, Beachouse also offers a variety of tours and activities, such as a rainforest walk, coconut jewelry making, and surfing lessons.
There is also complimentary breakfast, which includes cereals, bread, jam, butter, juice, coffee, and tea. In the mid-afternoon there is also a complimentary afternoon tea where scones, butter, jam, coffee, and tea are available to guests. The hostel offers several affordable options for dinner, which you can pre-order during the day; they are served all at the same time, which facilitates meeting other travelers, as everyone is enjoying their dinner together.
Summary
The hostel is very well kept and comfortable. Everything that you need is available there (including free Wi-Fi, which is generally of a good speed). Everyone sharing breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner at the same times makes it really easy to meet other travelers. The large grounds and open spaces also make it really easy to find a quiet spot for reflection.
There are better places in area
This place has so much potential as situated on lovely beach and the facilities are good for the budget. however, the staff really do not want to be there and are very rude. the Aussie owners seem to use it as a holiday place themselves and do not care about the guests. Website states there is a cafe but there are only two choices per night of food. Also check your bill, us and a number of others had extras that were not correct added on. If you are an animal lover, beware, the fijians here hate animals and even abuse the owners dogs. They were talking of killing a friendly kitten that the guests were feeding when when we were there.
Beautiful hostel right on the beach. Very cheap for what you get. Spacious dorm. Nice pool, bar, hammocks, and reasonable food at reasonable prices. Also nice to see remnants of filming Celebrity Love Island here! Everyone was eaten alive by mosquitoes here so bring a net and lots of deet! I would highly recommend this.
I initially booked for two nights with the intention of heading to Suva. I ended up staying for the full seven days of my trip. I loved the place. I took a day trip to a resort near Pacific Harbor I couldn't stand it, I felt like I just wanted to get back "home" so I hitched a ride on a truck, back to the Beach House. The staff were SO kind and loving. Napolioni ya gotta love that man! Mossies love us foreigners, so be warned. I loved the Kava sessions; staff; frogs; geckos; beach; Fiji Gold; Kava; Napoleon; making jewelry; food; and the scones! Did I mention the Kava!!!
Welcome to PARADISE!!! The Beachouse is amazing, wish you were here, eat your heart out!! Beautiful beach, food, accommodation, the surf break is a 10-minute paddle out, amazing people and not to forget that afternoon tea everyday!! I'll be back as soon as I can!!
The beach at this hostel sucks. The staff at this hostel are not very helpful, the only thing they want is your money. I left the hostel a day after I got there. Boring place, and not too many things to do.
My stay at the Beachouse was glorious. When I first arrived, I thought I might be in the wrong place as it was so elegant and relaxed. The staff was warm and helpful, the breakfast was plentiful, and the setting was beautiful. I extended my stay.
Good rorke
My favorite place in Fiji! I spent a couple of weeks here and enjoyed every second of it. So relaxing with lots of activities
Liked: The location was amazing and worth more than the cost. The atmosphere was really laid back and I appreciated the variety of activities offered on site. Didn't like: Albeit free, the wifi was difficult to stay connected to.
Liked: The pool. The layout. Didn't like: Poor food. Not much around. Staff not that informative.
Liked: Good location, easy to get there. Afternoon tea nice touch. Didn't like: Not a lot to do in bad weather. Watersports tide dependent. Activities board never updated. Not a lot to do in evening. Rooms basic and expensive compared to nearby resorts. Breakfast always running out, slow to replace and never any clean bowls, plates etc.
Liked: It was set in a lovely location, right on the beach on the Coral Coast. The dorm rooms seemed new and really clean. Didn't like: We arranged to go fishing 3 times, but we never actually went. First time, we were told they were taking surfers out instead, so they'd take us later in the afternoon. Later in the afternoon, we were told the tide wasn't in yet and it would soon be dark, so they'd take us at 9.30 in the morning. That evening a 16 year old rugby team turned up, and they were all taken out surfing before 9am, without a word to let us know. We don't mind Fiji time but it was really frustrating!
Liked: clean and beautiful place. Didn't like: athmosphere was not what I was expecting. Not the best backpacker vibe
Liked: The beach was beautiful and the dorms were well situated in relation to the bar and restaurant. The staff were great, Napoleon was awesome!!! Free afternoon tea and coffee served with the most delicious home made scones baked with fresh coconut milk. Would be great to visit solo, w friends, young children or as a group. $20 massages in an outdoor gazebo was the icing on the cake. Didn't like: Lack of lockers to store valuables. Bathrooms did not have soap or hand dryers/ towels. The Food and drinks were on the pricey side. Beers for $5, bottles of wine $29, lunch about $15 and dinner was $19. The food left a lot to be desired for the price. Had the fish and chips ($15), the fish was almost to tough to eat. Beef stir fry ($19.5) lots of white rice with almost no veg and poor flavor and meat quality. Fish soup ($10) served with garlic bread, tasted like warm water w fish and corn. We also had the veggie and beef burger and both were tasty... Definitely stick to the burgers!
It is a big slice of paradise for a really good price! The location, the beach, the food, the activities offered - amazing!
Liked: Clean & chilled, friendly staff, nice beach, activities organized, free scones... Great value for money! Didn't like: No supermarket etc. nearby so had to buy everything at the resort. Otherwise no complaints whatsoever.
Liked: I cannot say a bad word about this place - it is simply amazing. The location, the people, the accommodation, the food - all fantastic. Much more like hotel quality without the price tag, stuffiness and blandness. Didn't like: The only thing that I really could have done with is if they sold a few bits and pieces on site, as it's a way from anywhere. After-sun would have been much appreciated.
Liked: awesome beach, really good place to stay and good food Didn't like: nothing
