We are a small boutique backpackers, located at the start of The Great Ocean Raod. You can experience fun and adventure naturally in our beautiful seaside town. Summer offers lots of swimming, surfing, bushwalking, golfing. Even enjoy a little mountain biking if you're a keen enthusiast. All linen is provided, towels upon hire. Make use of the fully equiped kitchen and BBQ facilities. Our guests appreciate our homely manner, the three welcoming dogs and the very clean & comfortable accommodations.

Spend your money elsewhere Where do i begin? When a traveler escapes the big city for some r and r to spend his hard earned cash when paying top dollar at the local anglesea backpackers a minimum of hospitality is expected. It all started when we were put in the smaller room despite the fact we were traveling with two small children, plus the fact there was no one staying in the larger room. On paying 140 cash (without receipt) we were spied on by the owners through windows. Our dorm had zero security, no form of cooling (not even a fan) even though it was 36 degrees. We were a little concerned at this point after reading the visitor book. Had a fantastic day at the beach! Popped into the local pub and were charged 20 dollars for two pints and two small soft drinks. The fun had just begun. After a problem being overcharged at the local chip shop, the next morning we were keen to leave Anglesea and spend our money elsewhere. As I was getting dressed for the day, a knock on the bedroom door and in walked the proprietor and began stripping the beds. This was at 9:30 a.m. when check out is at 10 a.m. We made a run for it and left the dishes. Anglesea itself is a beautiful area. In these hard times, surely more considerations should be given to the tourist who is supporting their town. The attitude and arrogance we encountered over our one night stay was enough for a lifetime. Your money is better spent elsewhere. — Anonymous, australia (2009-01-21) A small, immaculately clean Hostel with good kitchen and lounge/dining area. Be sure to read, study, and adhere to the rules as owner is quick to anger. Must vacate at 10 a.m. and not return until 1 p.m. however the cleanliness, comfort of the bunk beds more than compensate. Only a couple of other guests at time of staying however thin walls and floorboards make the slightest sound carry. A ten-minute walk down to the Anglesea beach or cafe also a bonus. Anglesea is a beautiful place with beach stretching right round to Point Roadknight and is a perfect base from which to explore the Great Ocean Road. Highly recommended. — Rob, Australian (2007-03-29) Very clean and tidy hostel. The double room has its own bathroom and appears to be set up for disabled travelers. Good kitchen and communal areas. The polished floorboards mean that every footstep travels at night, and the rooms got a little cold in the early mornings. Make sure you bring warm sleeping gear. Otherwise it's a great hostel, with a friendly owner. Anglesea itself has great beaches and the kangaroos at the golf course are a sight to see. — Clare (2005-03-28) It IS very clean and tidy. The walls are a bit thin so noise travels. The shower for the dorms is a bit cramped and the arm for the shower head is a bit manked.
