November 2005
4 I just visited this hotel for eight days and it was great. I was there from November 5 through November 14, 2005. I came in for a Screenwriter's Expo held at the LA Convention Center the end of the week, and the closing of the play "Honor" at the Matrix theater on November 6. 2005. I was afraid to go after reading other bad reviews about the hotel. But after seeing it I realized the people who left the bad reviews were looking for a great bargain, at a low price. This hotel was in a great location. A mini shopping center right across the street that had a grocery store, Chinese buffet, and a Quizno's!! There was a small refrigerator in the room, so that was great for the length of time I was staying there. The breakfast just consists of cereal, coffee, toast, donuts or a honey bun. That's all. You didn't get the honey bun or donuts the same time. They had Raisin Bran and corn flakes, with 2% milk, which is good for you anyway. No juice of any kind. You can get that at the grocery store. There was a small diner attached to the hotel that offered breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So you had that if you wanted a bacon, eggs, pancakes kind of breakfast. The room was very clean, I had "no smoking" and the service was very good. The parking is fine, but late at night after midnight, you might not find a space. I went to NBC Studios, Paramount Studios, Matrix Theater, and the Los Angeles Convention Center, which were all within a 10 and 15-minute drive. There was a very nice "Second Chance Closet" right next door, which I found myself buying something everyday. Then you have your real stores in the next block and the Hollywood Walk of Fame within walking distance if you like to walk. Very nice location. A great hotel, for a bargain price.
