Drammen Hostels

Drammen is a city in Norway, about 40 kilometers from the nation's capital, Oslo. Often referred to as the "River City", Drammen is home to over 60,000 people and is a common place for travelers to go to while traveling through Norway. The city was established in the mid-19th century.

The city can be reached by buses from Oslo. There are two airports near the city, Oslo airport (Gardemoen, OSL) and Sandefjord airport, Torp (TRF), both being about one hour's drive away. When traveling inside Drammen, walking is a good option because the city is pretty compact. There is also a public transport system in Drammen, and it is highly recommended to use the buses if you want to go further than the city centre.

Hostels in Drammen are good value, but like most places in Norway, a bit on the expensive side because of very high living standards. Expect to pay about 25 - 30 euros for a dorm bed, and somewhat more for double / twin rooms. There are many things to do when you stay at a Drammen hostel. The main square is a good starting point. There are river walking paths, and the city center itself is a good place to go walking. There is also a museum and a theater in town if you're into that, and in the winter there's some great skiing to do.
