Copenhagen Hostels

This is a complete list of all known hostels in Copenhagen. If you know of a Copenhagen hostel that isn't listed here, please use the "Add a New Hostel" link at the bottom of the page.
"Danhostel Copenhagen City is the brand new HI hostel in Copenhagen. It comprises a whole 10 story building with about 20 apartments on each floor. The hostel offers full hotel services such as 24 hour reception, available linen and towels at a cost, refreshments machine and a TV set in the reception and full brand new installations. The rooms have brand new beds and linen and showers and...
"City Public Hostel is a hostel that most travellers are best off avoiding. Apart from a complete lack of security, it has several unappealing qualities. In particular, the beds are so bad they should not be allowed by the Danish government! The beds are all narrow, squeaky, rickety bunks made of wood and something that looks like the predecessor to springs for a base. The "springs" are...
Welcome to DanHostel Copenhagen Downtown!Copenhagen Downtown is only 2 minutes’ walk from the Central Station, the Tivoli Gardens and the city centre. A cosy atmosphere, living art and a vibrant cultural life make Copenhagen Downtown unique. It is a hotspot for different nationalities, expressions and life stories where performing artists as well as Copenhageners and visitors from all over the...
(Nørrebro)
"I stayed here on the first night of my city break in Copenhagen. Granted, the 'dorm room' is basically a great big partitioned warehouse with a shower and a toilet at the back, but it's okay for somewhere to sleep, and it's cheap. There's also loads and loads of free lockers (you put 20 ddk in, but you get it back when you open it) so if you're worried about luggage security then it's all...

The restoration has added all modern facilities without spoiling the boats's character and guests can be assured by our conscientious staff and commitment to the highest standards. Our mission is to provide comfortable, secure, clean and spacious accommodation to the budget traveler....

"The Danhostel at Amager is a big business enterprise, and it feels like one too. This isn't to say it can't have its niche (and glory for being the biggest hostel in Denmark), but if you're looking for a cozy little place with a group atmosphere, you won't find it here. Despite the dorm rooms and communal kitchen, it feels more like a budget hotel than a hostel. You even get sensor cards...
(Avedørelejren)
"I stayed at the Hostel Belaegningen in May 2006 for four nights. I can honestly say it's one of the best hostels I've stayed at -- it's very clean, the rooms are great, and the location was very nice. It's not in the city center, but it's no problem taking a bus or train into the city center. If you want a hostel you can stumble back to after a night on the town, this probably isn't the one....
(Brønshøj)
"This was a nice hostel, with great staff, and a really nice park next door to relax in after a day on your feet!" … "The hostel is clean and well-run, but location sucks! Too far from city center. Although the bus stop is 5 minutes away from hostel by foot, it takes at least 15 minutes to ride into the city center. And the breakfast is overpriced." … "Nothing special to be honest. I...
(K -- Christianshavn)
"Not the cleanest, but a lot of fun for young travellers. It is connected to a very nice (if a tad expensive) bar and is directly on the beach across from Nyhaven harbor. Their setup is interesting: curtained off bunk bed dorms and faux grass. I found it very nice for my purposes, a decent walk from just about everything and a decent price. Just a note, bring a lock of your own or you'll have...
Valdemarsgade 14
"Has scary hostel in basement - "Has scary hostel in basement" would be a better description. After following a maze of hallways through the loading dock, we arrived in our cramped dorm room with stained mattresses and pillows. The "lockers" provided one floor down did not look secure, as they were made out of plywood and showed evidence of having been forced open, but bags needed to be kept in...
(Baghuset)
"Crappy - dirty. bad vibes. not a big fan of this hostel. dirty side of town. no drinking in this place. staff not so friendly either. rooms crappy and spray painted. small beds. yucky." … Ravnsborgg 18

You should visit Tivoli Gardens.

Christiania is absolutely sh*t. If you are not drug addicted avoid going there. Go to Nationalmuseet instead. It's free and definitely one of the best museums ever seen around the world. Supermarkets are not more expensive than in Italy. Two complete days are more than enough for Copenhagen.

Overall I found this city to be pretty unfriendly. You kind of get the impression that they wish you would just go home. My friend and I got yelled at and called names for buying all of the pizza in the deli. Go figure.

Christiania!!! Pusher street is not what is used to be (summer 2004 now) but still very fun and easy to find weed!
