Western Europe Comments

I spent a short weekend in Kiel with a friend and we were surprised at what a pleasant town it is. All the red brick buildings in the old town: looking very sturdy and sober. And then you come to the Harbour and - hey, what a nice and modern breeze! I loved it. Nice beaches nearby and great paths for bicycling.
I stayed in Fribourg, Switzerland in August 1990. It was a quiet, peaceful, and lovely place then.
Metz is really a beautiful town - it's called the city of gardens or some such name. It's really an unexpected find only about 3 hours from Paris. A great place to wander through the parks and relax and it looks wonderful at night to. Bring lots of film.
Switzerland is a place that is not to be missed. Absolutely one of the most beautiful on the planet. Interlaken is the town to visit as most others are boring shopping malls. This place has everything for a really nice rest in between big cities as well as some of the most amazing outdoor activites you could imagine.
I stayed in Thisted for three weeks in February 2007. I was part of a group of students from Ireland who were on work experience in Denmark. I worked at the Dragsbaek Centret. I met great people and had a wonderful time and loved every minute of my time in Thisted. I've never forgotten it and have a longing to return sometime.
I have visited Sorrento twice. I absolutely love it there, it is one of my favourite places in the whole world. I would strongly reccomend anyone to visit Sorrento and the surrounding area, as it is beautiful and the culture is fantastic! I can't wait to go back!
Vejbystrand is a lovely place just next to the sea lots of nice old houses.
Tecklenburg is such a beautiful village on top of the Ranges of Teutoburg Forest. It is full of old tiny halftimbered houses, it is so cute! If you are near Münster - visit this place, it will be unforgettable.
I wasn't thrilled by Stockholm, but any trip to Sweden requires a stay in the capital, and it is pretty. You need maybe two days to look around. Wander around the islands, they are pretty. Skansen is ok, it's an outdoor museum of old Scandinavian buildings and real live animals. Spend half a day here. Walk the shopping street, it's very nice, no cars. Shopping wasn't as expensive as everyone claims. You can easily spend a few hours on this street. Movies are in English with Swedish subtitles, so that's a bonus. Warning: if arriving on a night train from Copenhagen, you'll get in at 6am, and nothing opens until 10!
You know... the traditional paella was made with rat and chicken -vomitive- now is done with rabbit and chicken, in Spain the rabbits are not pets. Seafood paella is only for tourists and in Valencia usually eat the paella at lunch.
Sète … Sete has beautiful beaches and it's a great medium-small town that isn't trampled by tourists.
Trondheim has the clean, fresh atmosphere of a small city, but the variety and possibilities of a big city. Friendly, but hardy people. Most younger people speak good English.
Very wonderful place! Right now we are waiting in France for a new trip to this town. We remember the delicious pizzas. Greetings from a young couple of "frenchies" really in love with Sweden, and particularly Ljungskile!! Bye and see you soon... we hope!
I visited Falun with my family in the winter of 2000. We stayed with my friend Kent Hurtig, in his parents' beautiful home. I loved Falun. I returned to Falun in the summer of 2004, after a brief stay in Stockholm. It was totally different in the summer. I saw P-Floyd on that Saturday night in July - a very good band. Thank you Sverige.
I visited Blankenheim from 1976 to 1985. I loved the people culture and city. I would love to return to see frends like HUBERTA MULLER - larryarnette@yahoo.com.
I spent a lot of my childhood in Grythyttan as my family grew up there and remain there today. It is a wonderful place to stay bring your children. It's such a friendly little village without all your high-priced and overcrowded streets. It's unlike any place on earth, with beautiful lush forests -- and the lake is amazing. Immerse yourself in the wilderness and get lost.
Boñar is the most beautiful place to be.
Karlsruhe is a great midsized people, about 250,000 people live there. You can find a huge palace and many cultural things to do. Nightlife is ok, too. And Karlsruhe is one of the warmest cities in Germany very close to the Rhine River, the Black Forest and the French Border (all within 30 minutes).
Heilbronn is a nice, medium- to small-size city with a little bit of everything to do. I've never stayed in a hotel there but it's a nice town/city. Summertime offers nice festivals and the wintertime offers the beautiful WeihnachtMarkt! Enjoy it!
This town is a must for anyone passing thorugh southern Spain or Portugal. The beaches are the most beautiful you'll ever see. The partying is also amazing. Try and come early in the summer or the spring. The crowds will be smaller, the weather warm but not too hot, and prices lower. Try and eat at Casa Rosa's, dirt cheap food, that is SO good. There is also a Prtugese place that serves HUGE servings for a decent price. I can't remember the name but ask a local, they'll hook you up. Also, do a Grotto tour. Definitely worth the 10 euros. The further you walk along the coast, the more deserted and beautiful the beaches become. Be warned, those who come to Lagos do NOT want to leave.
