The Hostelz.com Review
Travellers House Hostel is bright, lively, and cheerful. It has ultra-fast computers, clean showers and toilets, spacious common area, well-equipped kitchen, dining room, self-help bar, and everything a traveler needs.

Location

Travellers House is conveniently located near the airport bus station, tram, and metro, next to the central shopping area, supermarkets, restaurants, and the sea. Right opposite the hostel is the tourist information kiosk. It is a traditional mansion with lofty ceiling and huge windows, fresh air, and natural light. There is no huge, flashy signage, so keep your eye open for a small yet tasteful sign with the name of the hostel.

Reception is located at the first floor with no lift, but the staff offered to help us out with our luggage. We were impressed by its extremely helpful staff. They gave us a quick orientation of the hostel on our arrival so we could settle down in no time. They have all the information we need on sightseeing and Fado show bookings. A hot and sumptuous breakfast is included with toast and eggs, milk and cereals, jam, butter, honey, coffee, tea, juice -- a super value for money.

Rooms

Security is good with a free, huge locker and safe with lock and key for each person. The door of each floor has an electronic lock. The bunk beds are made of solid wood, so they don't creak or shake, ensuring a good night's sleep. Hooks and shelves in the room would make it even better. Toilets are equipped with rolls and rolls of toilet paper.

Common Area

The common area is a great place to hang out and meet other travelers. It tends to get smoky and noisy at night when everybody is around, but our beds are on the third floor so we were not bothered by that. If you need to sleep, be sure to ask for a bed not on the first floor. At the time of our stay, the hostel organizes "Pub Crawl" tours for those who enjoy night life.

Summary

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, it is clean, secure, and in a great location -- an ideal house for a traveler!

5 Great!
This is the best hostel ever! Staff is amazingly helpful and extremely kind. The position is great and not too noisy. Book ahead otherwise you won't be able to get a bed!

4 Excellent!
Perfect location, friendly helpful staff, amazing breakfast, clean, and safe. I was there for two weeks in June 2007. I would give it five Stars except for noise from my room right on street. Just bought earplugs. Easy enough to get on internet, kitchen available if you want to cook, store food, reasonably priced laundry service, staff always pleasant and helpful. Oh, and huge lockers under the bunk beds for storage, bring your own lock. Male bath with construction while I was there and completed, so sharing a while, but hot water always.

5 Perfect
Just landed home there, we were out to watch celtic vs. benfica. Lisbon is brilliant and travellers house is perfect, right in the centre of everything worthwhile. happy hour is unreal, 1.50 euro to empty the keg. The staff are brilliant!

5 Fantastic! Best Hostel I Have Ever Stayed In!
I can't say enough good things about this hostel. The staff there is absolutely fantastic. Everyone was so friendly! They go out of their way to help you with your travel and with having fun. I loved the fact that they gave you free sheets, towels, and eggs for breakfast. I have never stayed in a hostel that served a hot breakfast like they do. The living area is very chill and cozy. You can watch TV, use the internet or cook yourself dinner. I stayed in a four-bed room and it was perfect. I met some girls here that I ended traveling with for the next four days. They even give you a free lock to use while you're here, and you can fit your entire luggage in the locker that is under the bed. You will not regret it. Location is perfect, right on a street with lots of shops and outdoor cafes.

5 Friendly, clean, very chilled out!
We only stayed for one night before flying back from Lisbon but we all thought it was a really nice hostel! The rooms were clean and bright and the personal lockers were a good idea. Staff were friendly, internet free, and the main communal room felt really chilled out. Breakfast was good too.

5 I traveled for three months and this was the best hostel I stayed at. It is in a ridiculously good location (there is even a tourist information booth right outside the door!), it is clean, with really nice beds. Free internet is great and the free breakfast is amazing (this woman makes you scrambled eggs right there for free!). There are two lounge areas one with a TV with cable (almost all channels in English) and the other with drinks for sale. Every night I was there people hung out there until late, it was such a chill and amazing atmosphere! Stay at this hostel!
