HI - Nampa (Boise) Hostel Reviews from the Web
Hostelz.com Guest Reviews
5  Great Guesthouse/Hostel 15 min outside downtown Boise Stayed here for one night recently on my Pacific NW trek, felt very comfortable here and vibed w/the two other people staying for the night (one male, the other female). Clean, free Wi-Fi, and totally non-pretentious. Definitely recommended for anyone who decides to layover in Boise. 1 minute away from I-84.  , Americano ()
5  Cozy I stayed just one night and spent most of my time sleeping, but felt very comfortable the whole stay. Everyone I met was kind, everything was clean, and there was some free pancake mix, that on a more leisurely trip, I would have taken advantage of!  , u.s.a. ()
5  Like a hotel, but better and cheaper this was the best hostel i've ever visited. the people are super-nice, the place is roomy and clean, and i even left with home-grown vegetables to cook the next day! it's not easy to get to if you've no personal vehicle, but well worth looking into if you do.  , usa ()
5  Excellent! I stayed here for two nights. The owner, Elsa, is super friendly and helpful. This is a house which was turned into a hostel. I stayed in the dorm room (four beds) which has a shower and toilet. There is also a piano in working condition in the leaving room. A couch, dining table, refrigerator, parking, lockers, one computer with internet, free wi-fi. This place is super clean and is the best hostel I stayed at by far. It is kinda far from downtown but it is well worth it and is cheap ($19).  , USA ()
5  This hostel has a very friendly staff and a cozy, country atmosphere. They have a great kitchen which includes a free food shelf (with noodles and the like) and plenty of comfortable couches and seats to meet and talk with the other guests. It's a little far away from downtown Boise, but for the price, it can't be beat. Note that the HI road sign is a little hard to see if you don't know to look for it, so keep a sharp eye out. It's below the main sign for the hostel. Overall I had a great time staying there.  ()
5  Outstanding introduction to hosteling. Elsa (the owner) was great and I couldn't have had a better hostel experience! I met nice folks from Canada and enjoyed a great discussion at the kitchen table. Nice facility; I wish I could have stayed longer.  ()
4  I stayed here one night and it was great. Quiet, but great. If you are travelling through, this is a great place to get away from urban stuff. Elsa is really nice, she even gave me a lift to the supermarket and to the Greyhound bus stop. It's clean, with a good kitchen that is well appointed. The only drawback is probably that you really need a car to get anywhere from here. But I guess that's okay for most people.  ()
5  This place was kind of like staying with relatives! Elsa was friendly and helpful without being overbearing. We were just traveling through and did not look around Boise much. I did go running in the morning and admired the farms that were up and down the same road. Elsa was putting in a wonderful garden, which was still kind of new.  ()
5  I was the only guest and I had the best night sleep I have ever had in a hostel. Clean and quiet. The location was about a 10 minute drive from Boise.  ()
5  Elsa and Karl, my hosts, at Elsa's Country Place, were great. They provided great directions and ideas to get me around Boise and Nampa. This hostel is not within walking distance of downtown Boise, but it is conveniently located in the area, since a visitor needs to have access to a motor vehicle to make the most of a visit. Check out the Boise Co-op while you are in town, and make a great meal in the super-clean and large kitchen. Sit around the boot vase on the back porch and enjoy the view of some spectacular mountains (Sawtooths?). For such a small town, there is much to do and see in Boise and this hostel is an affordable, friendly way to go. I was there for two nights (March 9th and 10th, 2004) in the men's bunk room (two bunk beds). During my stay one other guest came and went. If you're headed to The Avenues Hostel in Salt Lake City, be sure to ask Elsa for some savvy trip tips! This hostel epitomizes the best that the Northwest has to offer--friendly hospitality and beautiful vistas. Be sure to hit one of the many hot springs that surround the area. Tread lightly on the earth and happy trails! (P.S. If you need a notary in Boise, just ask Elsa to hook you up!)  ()
4  Great place this. Clean, comfortable, friendly and ever so well organised. Highly recommend it. Stayed twice. Will be back.  ()
