Description
If you are looking for a special place to stay off the beaten tourist track then Fletcher Bay is the place for you.
The ride from Coromandel to Fletcher Bay is breath taking with coastal vistas and century old pohutukawa trees lining as sentries along the roadside.
Situated at the beginning of the 3hr each way famous Coromandel walkway and minutes walk from safe swimming and fishing beaches.
The hostel is run by the local farming family and at certain times of the year there may be farm activities to become involved in.
We can't offer double rooms with ensuites, or tv. We can offer a part of the Coromandel that hasn't been affected by commercialism.
No regular buses running, although a mailvan leaves Coromandel every Wednesday morning.

Continue past Colville on to metal road. Follow the west coast up to Port Jackson and on to to Fletcher Bay. Approx 1 hr past Colville. • Supplies need to be bought at either Thames, Coromandel or Colville. Colville has only one store. |

Chillax We ran this place in 1998 and it is the most beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing place that you could ever visit. Basic camping and hostel facilities but isnt that what you want? No tv or internet, just chill time! Walk, cycle, swim, kayak, fish read and relax. Fantastic scenery and very dark at night, take a torch! Enjoy, we loved it. — shaun & becky , english (2011-10-25)
