"The recently renovated Hilo Bay Hostel's most intriguing feature is its past life. Built in 1911, this historic site served as the gateway to a speakeasy. Look closely at the Hilo Bay Hostel sign on the grand staircase that leads to the second floor hostel. There are small windows on both sides of the sign. "Hawaii is beautiful, but these people are not - I stayed there a couple different times in the last year. Its an affordable place, if thats what you're looking for. Hawaii is gorgeous no matter where you go, you can camp almost anywhere for free. The Hilo Tropical Garden should be called the Hilo Tropical Trailer. The staff is who work there are some of the most soul sucking poeple ive ever met. theres this one kook who wears daisy dukes and thinks he can heal people. he gets mad if you dont believe in his mumbo jumbo BS.
