Welcome to Cellblock Backpackers, Queenslands only Themed Backpackers Resort.
'Imagine spending the night in a real jail cell. Refurbished to offer a little more comfort and privacy, the converted cell block offers a unique accommodation experience at an incredible price.
Looking for a job where you can earn good cash, and still have fun?
Then the CELLBLOCK backpackers is where you should head.
This new 27 room 155 bed hostel with 21 air-conditioned rooms is spread over 3 buildings seperated by a 17 meter pool and licensed bar. plus private grassed courtyards for relaxing.
Vending machines sell a variety of pre-packed food and other necessities, or take a short walk to Coles supermarket and cook fresh for yourself in either of 2 all Stainless Steel kitchens.
If you need work, they have the contacts and a free bus to take you. If you put in the effort, you can earn some very good money as Tax is only 15% on farm picking work and if you do 3 months picking work, you can extend your stay to 2 years in Australia. After a hard days work, swim in the heated pool or drink a beer at the licensed pool side bar.
All this in the centre of town, (150meters to the railway station / post office).
