Situated in a natural hollow, sits the quiet city of Pietermaritzburg, capital of Kwazulu Natal, and gateway to the Ukahlamba Drakensberg World Heritage Site. Surrounded by hills and often shrouded in morning mist, the citizens of Kwazulu Natal nicknamed the city Sleepy Hollow.

Pietermaritzburg offers a plethora of activities and outdoor pursuits to entertain with plenty of Mountain and road biking opportunities, whitewater rafting, Gameparks, scenic places and the Midlands Meanders' gastronomic and craft delights within close proximity. The city also offers cultural interest with the Msunduzi Voortrekker's Museum, Tatham Art Gallery and numerous Victorian buildings and houses to visit.

SLEEPY HOLLOW BACKPACKER'S is located in the University suburb of Scottsville, and is a hop, skip and a jump from the Scottsville Mall and within walking distance of the town centre if you feel like a meal or a night out on the town.

This clean, friendly, owner- managed backpackers is located on a spacious property with plenty of character. There are 2 eight-bed dorms, 2 twin rooms and afamily room which sleeps 4 available and a large, comfortable communal area to relax and unwind.

Free tea and coffee are available all day.

Directions
From N3: Take New England Road off-ramp toward city centre and travel +- 3 km. Pass the Golden Horse casino on your right. At the next traffic light after the Casino turn left into Woodhouse Road. Travel +- 150m, at the traffic light go straight across Alan Paton Avenue into Leinster Road, travel a further 50m. Take the first right into Birkett Road. We are the second property on the left (+-20m) at the green palisade gate.
