Description
The YHI at Dombås was taken into use February 1999 and is a part of Trolltun.
The new building is a log cabin and with big light rooms. It has a view to Dombås centre, the Gudbransdalen valley and the mountains surrounding it.
The reception for the Youth Hostel is in front of Trolltun, where also the serving of food is conducted. The Youth Hostel has however its own kitchen for those who wants to prepare their own food.
The Youth Hostel has a total of 77 beds, divided on cabins and rooms available. All has own bathrooms including shower. There is also an own living room with television and sofa groups for relaxing.
Dombås is the meeting point between North, South, East and West, and is very suitable as the base for roundtrips in Norway concerning mountains, wildlife, fjords and valleys. Through Dovre Aktivitetssenter one can enjoy the area with different activities, which will make the stay even more enjoyable and exciting.
There are several marked tracks starting from the cabins entrance both during summer and winter out into the wilderness of Rondane National Park, bird sanctuaries and protected environments. There is only 12 minutes walking distance to Dombås centre.
All the different seasons of the year have its own charm and you are therefore welcome all year round at Trolltun.
